Taylor Swift donates USD 50,000 to a Connecticut resident after a car accident while trying to help teenagers
Over the years, Taylor Swift has continued to give back to the community. From donating to charities to visiting cancer patients and spending time with them, the singer frequently helps people in need. In a recent report, it was revealed that Swift donated a large sum of money to a mother injured after trying to help people who had been in a car accident.

PEOPLE reported that the ‘Opalite’ singer recently donated USD 50,000 to Ashley Taunton, a resident of Connecticut. The woman had been injured after she had attempted to help teenagers who had been caught in an accident on a rainy day in Rhode Island. The amount was donated by the singer on the woman’s funding page, which had been set up by her family in order to cover the cost of her recovery expenses.The mother of three and a certified nursing assistant had been with her daughter, driving in Rhode Island, when she spotted that there had been an accident in front of her. While talking to the outlet, she had stated, “When I see there’s somebody in trouble, I tend to want to go help. She further shared that while talking to the teenagers that were involved in the accident, she had asked her daughter to call her father.In the meantime, as she was trying to understand what had happened, another car, whose driver lost control reportedly because of the wet and slippery roads, came straight towards her. Taunton recalled the event and shared, “It just felt like a big explosion. I just remember being on the ground, and I could see my ankle was just hanging there. I went to try to get up, and I couldn’t breathe.” At the time, she had also pushed a teenager out of the way to save him.Swift donated to the 42-year-old who was trying to help some teenagers who had swerved their car off the road because of the rain. This is not the first time that Swift has donated money to people in need.In 2015, she donated USD 50,000 to an 11-year-old Swiftie who had been fighting leukaemia. At the time, the funding page had a limit of USD 15,000 for every single donation; however, after the ‘Love Story’ singer’s donation, the limit was raised. Similarly, in 2019, Trinity Foster, another fan who had been battling stage four osteosarcoma, had a funding page set up by her family. Swift donated the full USD 10,000 amount of the goal and wrote a sweet note for her fan as well, which read, “I saw photos of your album release party that you did in your hospital room and wanted to say thank you for being so kind and supportive! I hope I can give you a hug in person soon, but in the meantime I wanted to send you this and all my love. Your friend, Taylor.” In 2020, after reading about the plight of two mothers trying to pay rent in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, the singer donated USD 13,000 each to them in order to help them out.
