Shashi Tharoor (File photo) NEW DELHI: Congress MP Shashi Tharoor questioned reports that the Centre may withdraw the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill, saying the move could not be fully trusted.Speaking in Nilambur recently, Tharoor said, “The Centre’s reported withdrawal of the FCRA Amendment Bill cannot be fully trusted. The urgency with which the central government is attempting to introduce changes to the FCRA is difficult to understand. There is a possibility of the bill being reintroduced when Parliament reconvenes on the 16th.”He added that the opposition will stay vigilant, saying, “The opposition will not allow the passage of any amendment that creates anxiety among religious minorities.”His remarks came a day after opposition MPs staged a protest at Makar Dwar in Parliament, demanding that the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026, be withdrawn. They said the proposed changes could create uncertainty and anxiety among NGOs and religious minority groups. The Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026, was introduced in the Lok Sabha on March 25. . NEW DELHI: A seventh India-flagged LPG tanker, Green Sanvi, crossed the Strait of Hormuz on Friday. So far, six vessels carrying LPG have reached Indian ports after crossing the Strait since the war broke out in West Asia. Now 17 Indian ships remain stranded west of the Strait of Hormuz, including two — Green Asha and Jag Vikram — loaded with LPG. These two may soon head to India as well, people aware of the developments said. TOI on Thursday had reported that the three LPG carriers were currently drifting northeast of Abu Musa Island in the Persian Gulf, and they were following instructions from the Indian Navy and awaiting orders for transit through the Strait of Hormuz.Meanwhile, a foreign vessel, purportedly carrying Iranian oil to India, has switched its destination mid-voyage and is now heading towards China. Sumit Ritolia, lead analyst at global analytics firm Kpler, said such mid-voyage destination changes are not unprecedented with Iranian crude and highlight the increasing sensitivity of trade flows to financial terms and counterparty risk.“The shift appears to be payment-related, with sellers tightening terms, moving away from the earlier 30-60 day credit window towards upfront or near-term settlement,” he said. “If the payment issues are resolved, the cargo could still make its way to an Indian refinery,” experts said. This underscores how commercial terms are becoming as critical as logistics in determining Iranian crude flows to countries other than China, Ritolia added. As per MarineTraffic data, Ping Shun, an Eswatini-flagged crude tanker, had earlier indicated that it was heading to the Vadinar facility of Deendayal Port at Kandla in Gujarat. The tanker, which is said to be carrying six lakh barrels of crude, is now signalling Dongying in China as its destination. It is, however, not confirmed whether the destination signalled by the ship’s automatic identification transponder is final and will not change again during transit. It would have been the first shipment of Iranian crude to India in six years if the tanker had actually reached Vadinar.End of ArticleFollow Us On Social MediaVideos’Will Use India, Throw Under The Bus’: Ex-Pentagon Analyst Reveals US Policy Towards DelhiBangladesh PM Tarique Rahman To Visit India Soon As Delhi-Dhaka Reset Ties: ReportCongress Leader Anand Sharma Praises Modi Govt’s West Asia Diplomacy, Urges National Unity Amid WarIndian Navy Boosts Nuclear Deterrence With INS Aridhaman Submarine, Enforces Undersea Strike PowerWhy Did India-Bound Oil Tanker Carrying Iranian Crude Change Course At The Last Minute?India’s Medium Transport Aircraft Programme Gains Momentum, HAL Joins Global Firms In RaceBrahMos-Armed INS Taragiri Marks Major Leap In India’s Naval Strength And Self-RelianceWest Asia Crisis: India’s Balanced Approach Wins Global Trust As Pakistan’s Mediator Gamble Stumbles‘Ghar Wapsi Will Happen Soon’: Imam Ilyasi Predicts PoK ReunificationRajnath Singh’s ‘Decisive Action’ Warning Evokes Pakistan’s ‘Swift Response’: What Khawaja Asif Said123PhotostoriesIs your silver real or fake? 5 easy ways to test its purity at homePM Narendra Modi highlights ‘Modi Tea Stall’ in Puducherry: How chai holds India’s heartDipika Kakar gets emotional after cyst removal surgery, says “joh ye reoccurrence hua hai uske baad main thoda sa ghabra gayi hoon”7 saree styling hacks to look taller and slimmer instantlyRamayana actor Ravie Dubey’s wealth decoded: From luxury cars to a Rs 8 crore Mumbai penthouse, exploring his reported Rs 80 crore net worthNatasha Poonawalla and Adar Poonawalla: The power couple’s filmy love storyHow to prepare your car for extreme off-road conditionsYour feet might look normal, but there are hidden signs which indicate severe damage and disease: How to recognise them7 key residential areas in Jaipur shaping the city’s real estate market11 royal meal experiences at the Maharajas’ Express that are not to be missed123Hot PicksTravis KelceOliver rowlandKick StreamerTiger WoodsCSK vs PBKS PreviewPublic holidays April 2026Bank Holidays AprilTop TrendingOil Price TodayGood Friday 2026India Labour CodeRandy GeorgeLuigi MangioneGucci ManeRaghav ChaddaHailee SteinfeldSchool Holidays in AprilIran war news
