NEW DELHI: Kerala BJP president Rajeev Chandrasekhar took a sharp swipe at the Congress over its failure to decide on a chief minister face, joking that even the BJP appeared “split” over whether Congress leader KC Venugopal should remain in Delhi or move to Kerala.This comes as Congress, despite the UDF alliance securing a sweeping victory in the assembly elections, remained locked in a bitter internal tussle until days after the results were announced. The deadlock makes Kerala the only one of the four states that went into assembly elections this year without a chief minister.Replying to a user on X joking on the prolonged deadlock over the top post, Chandrasekhar sarcastically suggested that even the BJP had a preferred candidate among the Congress contenders.The post shared by a netizen said, “Hilarious tough fight between Kerala BJP and national BJP. NEW DELHI: The National Commission for Women (NCW) on Monday released a detailed report on the alleged sexual harassment case at TCS Nashik, flagging major violations of the POSH Act and describing the workplace as “deeply toxic.” The report said that young and vulnerable employees, particularly Gen Z women, were frequently subjected to sexual and religious harassment by the accused, while the organisation allegedly failed to provide an effective redressal and safety mechanism.”A deeply disturbing and toxic workplace environment marked by pervasive sexual harassment and abuse of authority at the workplace. The accused persons had assumed effective control of the TCS, Nashik. They used to target young and vulnerable girls, and that they harassed them sexually, emotionally, and mentally. The complainants were indeed sexually harassed, attempts of molestation at the hands of the accused persons,” the report said.The key accused was taken into police custody last week. She is being presented in the Nashik Road Court.The report further revealed alleged insults by the accused targeting religion of the victims along with “mythology, beliefs, traditions and practices and by impressing upon the girls that Islam was a far superior religion to Hinduism.””The accused used to bully female employees by denigrating Hindu mythology, beliefs, traditions and practices and by impressing upon the girls that Islam was a far superior religion to Hinduism. The accused indulged in degrading and belittling the faith in Hinduism and created a coercive atmosphere through repeated anti religious commentary directed at women employees,” the report said.”Many victims noted that younger employees (Generation Z) were particularly susceptible to being influenced by such anti-religious discourse. Security Failures It was noticed that CCTVs were installed however they were nonfunctional,” it added.The report found out that the POSH mechanism at the Nashik unit was largely ineffective and non-functional, with serious lapses in compliance and implementation, making it even more difficult for the victims to lodge complaint.None of POSH members had ever visited or inspected the Nashik office to assess compliance, it said. The workplace lacked the basic mandatory requirements under the Act, including display boards, posters, or notices informing employees about POSH provisions, details of IC members, or penalties for non-compliance under Section 19.”The committee was shocked at the insensitivity demonstrated by the members of the POSH committee/ IC Committee of TCS. They had utterly failed for noncompliance with the mandate of section 19(C) of the POSH act. There was no expression of empathy or sympathy for the female employees at TCS Nasik. It is more than clear that this inaction on the part of the organization was not just a compliance deficit but was a governance deficit as well,” the report said.The report has been submitted to Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis. NEW DELHI: The AIADMK, once the unquestioned pole of Dravidian politics in Tamil Nadu, is showing visible signs of strain after its disappointing performance in the 2026 assembly elections. Just days after the party was reduced to 47 seats in the 234-member assembly, internal divisions have burst into the open, exposing disagreements over leadership, strategy and even whether the party should support the ruling Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) led by chief minister C Joseph Vijay.The first day of the new assembly itself reflected the emerging cracks. NEW DELHI: Newly appointed West Bengal chief minister Suvendu Adhikari on Monday chaired his first cabinet meeting and took six decisions, ending the deadlock between the state and Centre that had led to the stalling or outright rejection of several key initiatives.After the cabinet meeting, Adhikari said that the new journey of good governance, security and double-engine government in West Bengal would move forward on the same path of development followed in other BJP-ruled states across the country. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the ideals of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar and the principle of “For the People, By the People, Of the People.”“We took six decisions at the Cabinet. We are committed towards the well-being of 321 families of martyrs who laid down their lives as BJP supporters,” Suvendu said.Here are the decisions the Bengal government tookBSF to get land for border fencing in 45 daysGiving priority to border security, the government approved the process of handing over the required land to the BSF. The chief secretary and the land and land reforms department have been directed to complete the process within 45 days.”We started the land transfer process to the BSF for securing borders. The land will be handed over within 45 days,” Adhikari said.Rollout of all central schemesThe West Bengal government has also officially decided to join the Ayushman Bharat scheme. The health secretary and advisers to the chief minister’s office have been directed to complete the necessary agreement with the Union health ministry at the earliest.The process has begun to actively implement major central government schemes in the state, including Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Krishak Bima Yojana, PM SHRI, Vishwakarma Scheme, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and Ujjwala Yojana. District magistrates have been instructed to expedite the forwarding of all applications to the concerned Union ministries.IAS, IPS officers cleared for central trainingAs part of administrative reforms, IAS officers in the state will now participate in central government training programmes in line with practices followed in other states, the release said. The government has also decided to fully align West Bengal with the provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.“West Bengal government officials will participate in training programmes conducted by the Central government. The previous government had not allowed officials to participate in the scheme,” he said.Age limit for govt jobs increasedAdhikari also announced that the cabinet had decided to increase the upper age limit for government job applications by five years to improve employment opportunities for educated youth.Carrying out census as per Centre’s directiveThe chief minister stated that the previous government had failed to implement the Union home ministry’s directive dated June 16, 2025, regarding the census process. The present government has immediately enforced the pending administrative circular.“A letter was sent by the ministry of home affairs on June 16, 2025, for carrying out the census as per the Government of India directive. NEW DELHI: Newly appointed West Bengal chief minister Suvendu Adhikari on Monday chaired his first cabinet meeting and took six decisions, ending the deadlock between the state and Centre that had led to the stalling or outright rejection of several key initiatives.After the cabinet meeting, Adhikari said that the new journey of good governance, security and double-engine government in West Bengal would move forward on the same path of development followed in other BJP-ruled states across the country. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the ideals of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar and the principle of “For the People, By the People, Of the People.”“We took six decisions at the Cabinet. We are committed towards the well-being of 321 families of martyrs who laid down their lives as BJP supporters,” Suvendu said.Here are the decisions the Bengal government tookBSF to get land for border fencing in 45 daysGiving priority to border security, the government approved the process of handing over the required land to the BSF. The chief secretary and the land and land reforms department have been directed to complete the process within 45 days.”We started the land transfer process to the BSF for securing borders. The land will be handed over within 45 days,” Adhikari said.Rollout of all central schemesThe West Bengal government has also officially decided to join the Ayushman Bharat scheme. The health secretary and advisers to the chief minister’s office have been directed to complete the necessary agreement with the Union health ministry at the earliest.The process has begun to actively implement major central government schemes in the state, including Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Krishak Bima Yojana, PM SHRI, Vishwakarma Scheme, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and Ujjwala Yojana. District magistrates have been instructed to expedite the forwarding of all applications to the concerned Union ministries.IAS, IPS officers cleared for central trainingAs part of administrative reforms, IAS officers in the state will now participate in central government training programmes in line with practices followed in other states, the release said. The government has also decided to fully align West Bengal with the provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.“West Bengal government officials will participate in training programmes conducted by the Central government. The previous government had not allowed officials to participate in the scheme,” he said.Age limit for govt jobs increasedAdhikari also announced that the cabinet had decided to increase the upper age limit for government job applications by five years to improve employment opportunities for educated youth.Carrying out census as per Centre’s directiveThe chief minister stated that the previous government had failed to implement the Union home ministry’s directive dated June 16, 2025, regarding the census process.
