Ravindra Jadeja is expected to return for Rajasthan Royals in their crucial IPL 2026 clash against Lucknow Super Giants after missing the previous game against Delhi Capitals due to a knee niggle. Jadeja’s absence during RR’s defeat to Delhi had raised concerns among fans, especially after captain Riyan Parag only briefly referred to “Workload management” at the toss without giving full clarity on the all-rounder’s condition. However, Rajasthan batting coach Vikram Rathour later confirmed that the franchise had rested Jadeja as a precaution because of discomfort in his knee rather than any serious injury concern. “He just had some niggle in his knee, I think. They are just trying to manage that. They felt that if we give him one more game break, it would be good for him. That was the reason he was rested. He is just dealing with some niggle,” Rathour said in the post-match press conference. The experienced all-rounder is now likely to return for Tuesday’s must-win encounter in Jaipur. The timing of his expected comeback is significant for Rajasthan, who are entering the final stretch of the league phase under heavy pressure. RR currently sit sixth on the points table with 12 points from 12 matches after suffering three consecutive defeats, including two losses against Delhi Capitals. Their recent struggles have badly hurt momentum at a crucial stage of the tournament. Rajasthan have also lost their last three home matches, while concerns around batting consistency and powerplay bowling continue to grow. A dip in form from Yashasvi Jaiswal and inconsistent contributions from the lower middle order have added further pressure on the side after a strong first half of the season. Despite the slump, Rajasthan still remain firmly in the playoff race. Wins in their remaining games against Lucknow and Mumbai Indians would take them to 16 points, which would be enough to secure qualification.
