‘Getting IV drips every morning’: CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke diagnosed with typhoid
NEW DELHI: Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke on Saturday said he has been diagnosed with typhoid but asserted that the agitation will continue until Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigns.In a video message, Dipke thanked CJP supporters, whom he referred to as “cockroaches”, for carrying out peaceful protests across the country and credited them for the success of the movement.“Hello everyone. As you all know, I was not feeling well for the last few days. So, blood reports have come. And I have been diagnosed with typhoid. And my treatment is going on. I am getting IV drips every morning and evening.”“But I really want to thank all the cockroaches who are peacefully protesting all over the country. And you have made this movement so successful. A big big thank you to all. And congratulations to you all for making this movement such a big big success,” he added. Despite his illness, Dipke expressed confidence that the protests would achieve their objective, saying the movement would continue until Pradhan steps down. The remarks came as CJP reiterated that it may adopt a “tough stance” if the government does not clarify its position on the resignation of the Union Education Minister. Speaking to reporters, CJP activist Ashutosh Ranka said his meeting with Union Ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh was constructive, but added that the organisation was still awaiting a response on its primary demand. “Yesterday’s meeting yielded a positive response regarding compensation and legal matters, reaching an in-principle agreement. We hope to receive that written agreement today. However, no concrete decision has been made regarding our main demand. Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation.”“Mainstream media reports suggest sources are saying Pradhan will not step down. If he does not resign, the government should state it clearly, as there is no point in continuing these meetings. We will then decide on our next steps. If the government continues this approach, we will be forced to take a tough stance,” Ranka said. Ranka also criticised the Ministry of Education’s recent action against 47 National Testing Agency (NTA) officials, saying responsibility ultimately rests with the Education Minister. “We will examine the details, but ultimate accountability lies with the Education Minister, who is directly responsible for the paper leaks and the resulting student suicides. He must resign. While we continue to discuss broader reforms and submitted a charter of demands to the government yesterday, his resignation remains key,” he added. The CJP has maintained that while discussions with the government on compensation, legal matters and reforms are progressing, its central demand remains the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan.
