Akshay Kumar says Farah Khan used to compete for Rs 5000-10,000 at dance competitions, calls her ‘vulgar’ for a fight scene angle in ‘Om Shanti Om’
Akshay Kumar and Farah Khan recently reunited for a promotional video for the OTT release of ‘Bhooth Bangla’ where they were accompanied by Priyadarshan and Rajpal Yadav. The conversation soon turned into a nostalgic trip through their early years in the entertainment industry. Looking back at Farah’s journey before she became one of Bollywood’s most successful choreographers and filmmakers, Akshay recalled seeing her participate in dance competitions. Farah has directed Akshay in ‘Tees Maar Khan’. “I know Farah very well. She used to compete for Rs 5,000, Rs 10,000, Rs 10,000,” Akshay said during this chat on Netflix India’s Youtube channel. Farah was quick to correct him, saying, “No. Don’t lie like this. We used to get Rs 1,000.” Akshay went on to praise her dancing talent and remembered spotting her regularly at a famous Mumbai nightclub. “And she was an amazing dancer. There was a place, a disco called Xanadu. And she used to go there,” he said.Farah then turned the spotlight on Akshay’s personal life, leaving everyone laughing. “And he used to come with, every week, one new girlfriend,” she joked. Akshay immediately denied the claim, saying, “Don’t lie. No, no.” Not ready to let him off the hook, Farah added, “He used to bring only one girlfriend.”The actor quickly fired back with a joke of his own. “She used to change partners,” he said. Laughing at the exchange, Farah remarked, “Why this has become about my life, I don’t understand.” Akshay’s response was equally cheeky: “Because I know about you.” The conversation also revisited Akshay’s memorable appearance in Farah Khan’s 2007 blockbuster ‘Om Shanti Om’. Recalling an action sequence from the film, the actor jokingly accused Farah of intentionally choosing a particular camera angle.“The fight scene she has taken. Where I throw the gun up and then I catch it here,” he said while gesturing towards his pelvis. “And I fire it. Vulgar woman. I kept on screaming, ‘Don’t take it.’” Farah laughed and defended herself, saying, “Who told me to shoot the scene from behind?”Akshay immediately replied, “I didn’t say it.” ‘Bhooth Bangla’ has now begun streaming on Netflix. The film also starred Tabu, Wamiqa Gabbi among others.
