Abhishek Banerjee NEW DELHI: Trinamool general secretary and Lok Sabha MP Abhishek Banerjee has moved the Supreme Court seeking an expeditious decision by Speaker Om Birla on petitions seeking disqualification of the 20 rebel party MPs who have aligned themselves with Nationalist Citizens Party of India (NCPI).According to the SC website, a bench comprising CJI and Justices Joymalya Bagchi and V Mohana has listed Banerjee’s plea for hearing on Aug 25.The petition challenges the delay in deciding on the disqualification proceedings against the rebel MPs. In the recently concluded Monsoon session, Banerjee had also met LS Speaker Om Birla on Aug 12 to reiterate his demand for a speedy decision.Get the latest India News and Live updates.
