Yash hails Kiara Advani as ‘such a professional actor’, reveals how he and Geetu Mohandas protected her during ‘Toxic’ shoot: ‘We were like bouncers and bodyguards’
Yash, speaking at the ‘Toxic’ album launch event, opened up about his experience working alongside co-star Kiara Advani, applauding her commitment to the role despite her pregnancy at the time. He revealed that he and director Geetu Mohandas went out of their way to shield and support her on set, likening themselves to “bouncers and bodyguards” during production. He also credited Kiara’s exceptional dedication for giving the film its “special” touch.
Yash calls Kiara “such a professional actor”
When asked to share his thoughts on Kiara, Yash responded, “Kiara is, how do I say this, I think she is such a professional actor.” He further spoke about how impressed he was with her dedication, adding, “She (Kiara) came into this film- I was a little worried because it was too demanding.”
Yash recalls Kiara’s first-ever rain sequence
Yash went on to share that he once asked Kiara whether she’d ever shot a rain sequence in the past. He revealed that she admitted to never having done one before in her career. The actor said he was taken aback by how completely she “dedicated herself” to the project, even with the shoot’s physically taxing demands.Speaking about Kiara’s dedication to Toxic, Yash remarked, “I must say even after she was carrying (the baby), she came with 100% commitment.” He further shared that both he and director Geetu Mohandas were especially mindful of Kiara’s well-being throughout the shoot. “I was more worried, Geetu was more worried. We were like bouncers and bodyguards, used to take care of her,” Yash said. Wrapping up his tribute to Kiara, Yash said, “Thankyou Kiara. This one is special.”
Yash’s co-star worked through seven months of pregnancy
While filming ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups’ alongside Yash, Kiara was pregnant, though this information remained undisclosed for most of the shoot. She opened up about it in December 2025, sharing that she had worked through seven months of her pregnancy, with knowledge of it initially limited to director Geetu Mohandas and the producer. She also spoke about talking to her baby during scenes that were emotionally demanding to film. Her pregnancy played a significant role in shaping the production timeline. Principal photography for ‘Toxic’ kicked off in August 2024, and once her pregnancy needed to be accommodated, the remaining portions of the shoot were relocated to Mumbai in June 2025. Filming ultimately wrapped up in October 2025.

Kiara and her husband, actor Sidharth Malhotra, became parents to a baby girl in July 2025, whom they named Saraayah Malhotra.
