Shreyanka Patil’s injury woes continued, as her ICC Women’s T20 World Cup campaign has ended prematurely. The 23-year-old, who had finally seemed to have put a prolonged injury nightmare behind her, now faces another setback. The Karnataka off-spinner was on Friday ruled out of the ongoing tournament after suffering an ankle injury during India’s Group A clash against the Netherlands, dealing a significant blow to the team’s bowling plans.She has been replaced by uncapped leg spinner Prema Rawat.The injury occurred in the final over of the power play in Wednesday’s game. Shreyanka bowled just one delivery of her opening over before twisting her right ankle while attempting to collect the ball. She winced in pain and was unable to put weight on her foot.After she was stretchered off the field, Shafali Verma completed the over.The latest blow continues a frustrating pattern for one of India’s most promising cricketers.
