Vijay took oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on Sunday, May 10, after his party secured a majority in the state assembly elections.The swearing-in ceremony was held at Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai, where the Governor administered the oath of office.On the last day, Rajinikanth was spotted at Chennai International Airport on Tuesday, May 12. As he arrived, reporters gathered and asked for his reaction to the landmark political development.In a video shared by Press Trust of India, Rajinikanth smiled, folded his hands, and continued walking without offering any statement.
Rajinikanth had already congratulated Vijay
Although Rajinikanth chose not to comment at the airport, he had already congratulated Vijay when the election results were announced on May 4.“My congratulations to Thiru Vijay, President of the victorious Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, and to the members of his party, on their resounding victory in the recently concluded Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly elections,” he had written.Earlier this month, Mammootty was also asked about Vijay’s political rise at the Chennai airport.After requesting reporters to repeat the question, Mammootty smiled and said, “Onnume theriyatha (I don’t know).” When journalists persisted, he repeated the same response.
Kamal Haasan shares heartfelt message
