UPSSSC PET 2026 registration extended till September 7 after OTP, website issues; read official notice here
The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has extended the registration deadline for the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2026 to September 7, 2026 after several candidates reported problems with the commission’s official website and One Time Password (OTP) verification.Earlier, the registration window was scheduled to close on September 1, 2026. However, many applicants took to social media claiming that they were unable to complete the online application process because the website was not functioning properly.

Several candidates shared posts on social media platform X stating that the UPSSSC website, upsssc.gov.in, had not been working properly for several days.According to the complaints, applicants were facing difficulties during the OTP verification process, with many claiming that they did not receive the OTP even after repeated attempts. As a result, several candidates urged the commission to extend the application deadline.
UPSSSC extends registration date
Taking note of the situation, the commission issued a corrigendum extending the last date for registration, payment of application fees and submission of the online application form.Candidates can now complete their PET 2026 application process till September 7, 2026.The official notice stated that the corrigendum has been issued in continuation of Advertisement No. 16-Examination/2026 dated August 1, 2026. It also clarified that all other conditions related to the application process, application fee, selection process and prescribed eligibility criteria will remain unchanged.
Application fee
Candidates belonging to the unreserved and Other Backward Classes (OBC) categories will have to pay an application fee of Rs 185.The application fee for Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates is Rs 95, while candidates under the Persons with Disabilities (PwD) category will have to pay Rs 25.The fee can be paid through credit card, debit card, internet banking, Unified Payments Interface (UPI) or State Bank of India (SBI) challan.Candidates who have not yet completed their registration can now use the extended window and submit their PET 2026 application before the revised deadline of September 7, 2026.Read the official notice here.
