Tom Holland has seemingly confirmed the long-running rumours that he married his ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ co-star, Zendaya.The actor, who is gearing up for the back-to-back releases of ‘Spider-Man’ and ‘The Odyssey’, finally addressed the speculation about his relationship status, in an interview for the July/August issue of Esquire. While talking about his personal life, career and relationship, the actor appeared to shed light on the rumours about his secret wedding.

Recalling the viral spread of AI-generated wedding images that went viral on social media and raked in over 10 million views, Holland revealed that the fabricated photos even fooled members of his own family. The star revealed that his grandmother believed the AI images. When probed further about having to reassure other family members, he replied, “No, because they were all there.”Holland declined to elaborate further on the subject saying, “That’s all you’ll get on that.”

While he may be tight-lipped about his wedding, Holland gushed over Zendaya. He said, “Our business can present very stressful situations and it’s really nice to have a bedrock of a relationship that will stand the test of time. We can support each other in ways that only we can, because only we understand really what it’s like to live this life, and I think that is such a luxury, because I just don’t understand how I would be able to have anything like that with anyone else.”He went on to add, “So, for me, I found my person. She’s my best friend, and I’m the happiest I have ever been when I’m with her, but I have also never felt so supported and safe, ever. Period.”

Holland and Zendaya first met while filming Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2016, where they starred as Peter Parker and Michelle “MJ” Jones. While buzz about the couple getting engaged was confirmed when Zendaya appeared at the Golden Globe Awards wearing a prominent diamond ring, buzz about a low-key wedding began doing the rounds after Zendaya’s longtime stylist and friend, Law Roach, told Access Hollywood in March: “The wedding has already happened. You missed it.”The couple is currently on a promotional spree for ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’. The film is slated to release on July 31, days after the release of ‘The Odyssey’ which hits the big screens on July 17. Zendaya also has ‘Dune: Part Three’ slated to release on December 18, it is rumoured that Tom will feature in the upcoming ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ which is slated to release on the same day.
