‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ cast rave about upcoming film: ‘The most intimate look at Peter Parker…’
With the release of ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ only days away, fans and netizens alike have not been able to contain their excitement at all. The cast and team behind the film seem to be equally eager to share it with the world. In recent interviews, the cast members have raved about the upcoming superhero film, sharing that it is something completely new, and the beginning of something unexpected.
‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ cast talks about the upcoming film
While talking to Entertainment Weekly, Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Jacob Batalon opened up about working on the film, and how it is the beginning of a brand new chapter for all of them. Holland commented during the interview that, “I think the truth is that this is the beginning of a new…thing.” Batalon further commented about how fans should expect something completely different since “It is a Brand New Day after all.”Amy Pascal talked about the film and further shared that “It’s about wanting to be anybody else but who you are, and it’s about the desire to fit in and to not be different and to learn to understand that being different is okay and maybe great. We definitely don’t see [Spider-Man: Brand New Day] as a closing…It’s a beginning.” Zendaya also weighed in on the film’s changes in comparison to the previous three films, revealing that Destin Daniel Cretton took ‘Brand New Day’ in a different direction as a director. She added during the interview that it is “probably the most intimate look at Peter Parker that we’ve ever seen.”
Zendaya reveals that Peter Parker is at the center of the storyline
Zendaya mentioned during the interview that since Cretton was far more interested in Peter Parker as a character as compared to Spider Man, this film will be a lot different. She added, “I also think we’ve never seen Peter this vulnerable. Do you know what I mean? I think he’s been put in very difficult positions many times before, but he’s never been completely isolated and completely alone. I think that changes the entire dynamic of the film. Destin came in with such a beautiful visual language, also, for how he wanted to tell the story and making it feel more mature without losing the essence and the fun that we all know from the previous movies that Jon created.”

The film picks up after the third film’s events, where everyone in the world, including two of his closest friends, forgets who he is in order to save the world. Saving New York one crime at a time, Peter Parker is all on his own in this film. However, when things start to change in his life, he may have to reach out to someone from his past.With the first critic reviews already out and a 93% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, fans are expecting quite a lot from the upcoming film. ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ is releasing in India on July 30, while it will drop in theatres in the US on July 31.
