Rs 35 crore ‘horse trading’ case: Madras high court grants conditional anticipatory bail to Senthil Balaji, brother
CHENNAI: Madras high court on Wednesday granted conditional anticipatory bail to DMK MLA and former minister V Senthil Balaji and his brother R V Ashok Kumar in connection with the case for alleged Rs 35 crore horse trading attempt to destabilize the ruling TVK govt.Justice G K Ilanthiraiyan passed the order on the pleas moved by Senthil Balaji and Ashok Kumar apprehending arrest in connection with the case. The court has directed the petitioners to appear before the investigating officer twice a day until further orders.According to the petitioners, their names do not figure in the FIR registered by the Chennai police and yet the police are trying to drag them into the case due to political motives.The issue pertains to a complaint made by TVK Uthangarai MLA N Elaiyaraja on June 29 alleging that he had been offered Rs 35 crore as a bribe to destabilize the ruling TVK govt.
