Director and actor RJ Balaji has shared an emotional note after the success of Suriya and Trisha Krishnan starrer ‘Karuppu’. The film was released in theatres on May 15 and has been getting a very strong response from audiences. Fans across Tamil Nadu are celebrating the movie in theatres, and the film is slowly becoming one of the biggest hits of the year.On Monday, RJ Balaji took to his Instagram handle to thank everyone who watched the movie and supported it. He said the love shown to the film was much bigger than what the team expected when they started making it.

In his note, RJ Balaji said many people are having emotional moments while watching the film. He mentioned that some audience members were cheering, crying and feeling deeply connected to the story.He wrote, “We’re hearing stories from across Tamil Nadu and beyond — of audiences cheering, weeping, and in many instances, being so deeply moved that they’ve experienced something far greater than cinema. Some have felt divine intervention within the theatre itself. To us, this is the highest blessing our film could have received.”

Help them with water, with space, with a steady hand.”He also requested theatre staff to stay prepared and treat such moments with care and respect.

About ‘Karuppu’

In ‘Karuppu’, Suriya plays Saravanan, a lawyer who later takes the form of local deity Karuppusamy. The story follows a father and daughter who get trapped inside a corrupt legal system.According to trade analyst Sacnil, the film’s total net collection comes to Rs 70.71 crore as of now. The live data till this afternoon today suggests the movie has made Rs 2.71 crore with running across 2,600 shows.
