Ravi Mohan withdraws decision to quit acting: ‘I apologise, will never let my fans down again’
Ravi Mohan has majorly changed his career plans by withdrawing his earlier decision to step away from acting. A few weeks ago, the actor emotionally announced that he would not act in films until his divorce proceedings were over. His statement shocked fans and the film industry. Now, Ravi has revealed that he reconsidered the decision, saying the love and support from fans and colleagues made him realise that cinema remains an inseparable part of his life.
Ravi Mohan admits he spoke out of emotion
Speaking at the JFW Achievers Awards, Ravi Mohan openly admitted that his earlier announcement came during an emotionally difficult period. Addressing the audience, he said, “I am 46 years old, and if you divide that by two, half my life has been spent in cinema. One small mistake of mine has hurt so many people, and I truly regret that. My personal life and professional life have always been equally important, but my emotions took over.” He also apologised to the film fraternity, adding, “Everyone in the industry told me, ‘You can say anything, but never say you are leaving cinema.’ I sincerely apologise to them, and I promise I will never let my fans down again. I will definitely come back stronger.”
Ravi Mohan credits fans for giving him strength
Ravi also thanked his fans for standing by him during one of the toughest phases of his life. “If I am standing here today with a smile, it is because of my fans. Your love, happiness, and generosity have given me the strength to move forward. I hope to return as Ponniyin Selvan or Karate Babu, and I thank everyone who believed in me,” he said. Looking back at his emotional press meet in May, the actor added that the episode at least encouraged more conversations about mental health, with several people reaching out to share their own experiences.
A busy film line-up awaits Ravi Mohan’s return
Ravi Mohan’s latest speech brought relief to fans disappointed by his earlier decision to quit acting. Despite his announcement at the time, he remained attached to several projects. He is set to appear in ‘Karathey Babu’ and ‘Genie,’ and he is also part of Benz, starring Raghava Lawrence, which is being developed under the Lokesh Cinematic Universe. It is very evident that Ravi Mohan is prepared to move on with his renewed confidence and commitment to cinema leaving behind the emotional chapter and again concentrating on entertaining the audiences.
