PSBs, RRBs waive ATM fees ahead of 3-day strike

NEW DELHI: Public sector banks and regional rural banks have announced their decision to waive ATM charges to ensure hassle-free cash withdrawal by their customers from Sept 28-30 due to the strike called by employee unions.Besides, all branches of state-run banks and RRB will remain open on Sunday as the unions have called a three-day strike starting Monday. “Withdrawals from other bank ATMs can be made without charges from 26th to 30th Sept,” Indian Bank said. HDFC said its branches will remain open Sunday and it will be business as usual during the strike.Govt earlier asked for payment of salaries and pension to retired personnel ahead of time to avoid the impact of strike.
