‘Poor also have right to study’: Khan Sir alleges rival coaching centre behind firing outside institute
Educator and YouTuber Khan Sir has alleged that rival coaching institutes were behind the attack that took place outside his coaching centre in Patna.According to him, the incident took place after the results of the Bihar Police recruitment examination were declared. He said many students from his institute had qualified and the staff were resting after a busy day when the attackers arrived.“Classes had got over, results of Bihar Police recruitment had come, thousands qualified, we were tired, then some anti-social elements came, started threatening us, beat up the guards,” Khan Sir said.He alleged that the people involved appeared to be linked to the coaching sector and were unhappy with the low fees charged at his institute.“They seem to be coaching people. They are hassled by low fees, I feel poor also have right to study,” he said.Khan Sir further said that the people involved in the incident have been identified. He added that CCTV footage from the coaching centre has already been handed over to the authorities for investigation.“They have been identified. I should get the security, but it is up to the administration… CCTV footage have been handed over…” he said.A security guard was injured in the incident and was taken to hospital for treatment.Speaking to ANI, SP Kartikeya K Sharma said police are treating the matter as a case of physical assault and have started recording statements from the injured guard and local residents.“This is a case involving physical assault. It has been reported that the guard sustained injuries; therefore, further action is being taken by recording his statement as well as the statements of the local people. The injured individual is currently undergoing treatment,” Sharma said.Following the incident, Patna SSP, the SP and several police teams reached the coaching centre and launched an investigation.
