NEW DELHI: India’s installed clean energy generation capacity has crossed the 300GW mark, taking the country past 60% of its target of having 500GW of non-fossil capacity by 2030.According to data released by renewable energy ministry, total non-fossil capacity stood at 300.5GW as on July 31, accounting for over 54% of total installed power generation capacity of around 552GW. Solar accounts for the largest share at 164.6GW, followed by large and small hydro at 57.2GW and wind at 58.1GW. Bio-power contributes nearly 11.8GW, while nuclear energy accounts for 8.8GW.The ministry said that a record 55.3GW of non-fossil capacity was added in 2025-26, including 44.6GW of solar and 6GW of wind capacity.
