Singer Rahul Sipligunj has reacted after reports claimed that he was named in an FIR filed in Visakhapatnam. The singer is known for singing the Oscar-winning song ‘Naatu Naatu’ from SS Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’. A young woman has reportedly filed a complaint alleging threats and harassment in a marriage-related dispute.
Rahul Sipligunj reacts To FIR report
Rahul Sipligunj took to Instagram and shared a screenshot of a Mahaa News YouTube thumbnail. The thumbnail used a popular Telugu proverb and read, “Rahul Siplugunj case. Uru lo pelli ki kukkala hadavidi ante ide emo. (A wedding is happening in the village, and the dogs are making all the fuss).”Sharing the screenshot, Rahul wrote, “Happy to see that in today’s news. This is probably the best thumbnail I’ve seen so far, because it is very close to the truth. I’m not saying it is in my favour. I’m just saying it is nearly to the truth.”
He also said that he would release a video to explain more about the matter. However, he has not released any video yet.
Woman makes allegations against Rahul Sipligunj
Earlier, as per a report by TV9 Telugu said a woman had filed a complaint against Rahul Sipligunj and 11 others. She reportedly alleged that Karpurapu Rahul Reddy, who is mentioned as Sipligunj’s brother-in-law, met her through a marriage-related matter.The woman alleged that Rahul Reddy threatened to leak her private pictures and videos. She also claimed that her honour and personal life were affected because of the issue.The complaint further alleged that the 36-year-old singer threatened her and forced her to give a video statement. The contents of the video statement are not known. She has alleged that she was blackmailed, threatened and harassed.
Police say case has been filed against 16 people
According to a Hindustan Times report, the case has now been referred to the Women’s Police Station. ACP CH Ambedkar told the press, “On June 12, a woman approached the MVP police station and stated that last year she met a man named Karupurapu Rahul Reddy on the dating app Bumble. They began dating, and he got physical with her under the pretext of marriage.”“Some of Rahul Reddy’s family members and friends, including Rahul Sipligunj, have allegedly threatened her to move on. A case has been filed against 16 people, including Rahul Sipligunj and his wife, as well as Rahul Reddy. We are investigating the case,” said the police.
Who is Rahul Sipligunj ?
Rahul Sipligunj is a popular singer and songwriter in the Telugu film industry. He first became known through his independent songs on YouTube. He later became famous across the country and internationally after singing ‘Naatu Naatu’ from ‘RRR’. The song won the Oscar for Best Original Song. MM Keeravaani composed the music, while Chandrabose wrote the lyrics.He recently sang several songs for Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Hari Hara Veera Mallu: Part 1’ and Mahesh Babu’s ‘Guntur Kaaram’.
