LUCKNOW: Residents of Parsa village in Kushinagar who rushed out after hearing screams were met with a scene of horror Monday – a man clobbering his wife and mother to death on the roof of their house, smashing their heads with a brick, and cannibalising them, reports Pathikrit Chakraborty. Sikandar Gupta, 30, was arrested at his home. “A case of double murder has been registered. Police are examining the accused’s mental state,” SP Keshav Mishra said. Gupta, a labourer who worked in Mumbai and returned home a month ago, assaulted his wife Priyanka, 28, and mother Runa Devi, 60, first with sticks, then struck their heads with a brick, police said.
