Raut said that 20 years ago, Omraje’s father was killed, and trial in the case was on. “If he joins Shinde Sena, he will get relief from court,” he claimed. The case is about the June 2006 assassination of prominent Congress neta Pawanraje Nimbalkar and his driver in Navi Mumbai. A CBI court in Mumbai is scheduled to deliver its verdict in the case on June 20.Raut claimed that the MPs were reportedly being offered Rs 50 crore each, and Rs 15 crore was “just the advance.”In a post on X on Tuesday night, where he tagged CM Devendra Fadnavis, Raut said, “Apna Sapna Money Money! It’s shocking and revolting that Maharashtra MPs are reportedly being offered Rs 15 crore each tonight to switch sides.”Reacting to Raut’s post, Trinamool MP Mahua Moitra claimed in a post on Wednesday, “Rs 15 cr? Saste mein kyo jaa rahe hai? Believe ours got Rs 4cr up front and Rs 1cr a month for next 36 months of term… Honey plus Money.”Raut responded to her, saying, “No no – Mahua ji, Minimum Support Price is fixed at Rs 50 crore per MP. Rs 15 crore is just the advance. Frankly, these people aren’t even worth Rs 50,000. CHENNAI: Holding that mala fide intent could not be ruled out in a proposal to build a church in the vicinity of a Hindu temple, Madras HC has stayed its construction in Coimbatore.”Coimbatore is a communally sensitive city. It witnessed bomb blasts and bloody religious riots. The proposed church would come up within a stone’s throw from the existing Mariyamman Temple. There are only a handful of Christian families. If a large church is proposed to be constructed in the vicinity of the Mariyamman Temple, mala fide intentions cannot be ruled out,” a division bench of Justices G R Swaminathan and V Lakshminarayanan said.The court said it would also take on record the submission of the petitioner that since a new govt led by C Joseph Vijay was formed, “posters have appeared in some parts of Tamil Nadu calling for construction of churches in every village”.The interim order was passed on a plea by N Balasubramaniyam opposing the construction of a church at Kalapatty in Coimbatore. “The petitioner hints at the possibility of the new building being a centre of conversion activity. We are a secular nation. We are a pluralist society. Religious amity has to be preserved. If a religious right is established, then it is the duty of the state to aid in its enforcement,” the judges said.The court said the situation would have been different if the construction was proposed on a patta land whose title was beyond dispute, there was no religious structure belonging to any other community in the immediate vicinity or if there was no opposition. In the case at hand, however, revenue records indicated the site was a public road, the location was too close to an old temple, and there was vigorous resistance, the HC added.The court also placed on record the submission of the petitioner that TN assembly speaker JCD Prabhakar quoted Bible verses in his inaugural address to the legislative assembly.Get the latest India news and live updates. Representative photo (AP) NEW DELHI: Drug price regulator National Pharmaceuticals Pricing Authority (NPPA) has approved a 20% price hike for Serum Institute of India’s BCG, measles and measles-rubella vaccines.This move is unusual since price hikes are rare when one company dominates the market.NPPA had fixed the pr-ice ceiling in Dec 2024 based on Pharmarack data after applying monopoly reduction of 17.1% under Drugs Prices Control Order, 2013.
