Isro BluBird launch SRIHARIKOTA: India’s heavy-lift rocket LVM3 on Wednesday successfully placed the US communications satellite- BlueBird Block-2 – into low Earth orbit, in an early morning launch mission. At 6100kg, it was the heaviest payload lifted by the rocket which completed its sixth operational flight and third dedicated commercial mission.The 43.5m tall and 640tonne rocket lifted off from the Second Launch Pad at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota. About 16 minutes after liftoff, BlueBird Block-2 was injected into a circular orbit at an altitude of around 520km with an inclination of 53degrees.The mission, designated LVM3-M6, was undertaken as part of a commercial agreement between NewSpace India Limited (NSIL), the commercial arm of Isro, and US-based AST & Science LLC. BlueBird Block-2 is part of a global low Earth orbit constellation aimed at enabling direct-to-mobile satellite connectivity.According to mission details, the satellite features a 223 square metre phased-array antenna, making it the largest commercial communications satellite deployed in low Earth orbit. They are anti-women and they stand exposed before the country.”The remarks come in the backdrop of the Constitution Amendment Bill failing to pass in the Lok Sabha, triggering sharp reactions from leaders across the political spectrum.The Lok Sabha took up the Constitution (One Hundred and Thirty-first Amendment) Bill, the Delimitation Bill, and the Union Territories Laws (Amendment) Bill together for passing.In the division that took place on the Constitution Amendment Bill following the debate on the three bills, 298 members voted in favour and 230 against it.With the Constitution Amendment Bill defeated, the government later said it did not want to pursue the two other linked bills. The bills aimed to increase the strength of the Lok Sabha from 543 to 816, with 33% reservation for women. The delimitation was to be carried out based on the 2011 census.The government said there will be a proportionate increase in seats for all states.Opposition parties said that they are strongly in favour of women’s reservation but were against the Delimitation Bill. PM Modi’s ‘Jhalmuri break in Jhargram’ NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday took a candid jhalmuri break amid the hustle, bustle and political heat of West Bengal, where the BJP, led by him, is mounting a strong challenge to Mamata Banerjee’s 15-year incumbency.After concluding his address in Jhargram, PM Modi walked up to a jhalmuri stall and said, “Bhai, hume apna jhalmuri khilao.”As the vendor prepared the snack, the Prime Minister engaged him in a brief chat, asking, “Kitne ka hota hai jhalmuri?”He then reached into the pocket of his Nehru jacket to pay.
