Cricket Ireland has confirmed that both T20Is against India will begin at 1:30 pm local time (6:00 pm IST), an hour earlier than the usual start time for India’s evening T20 internationals. The decision has been taken to reduce a scheduling conflict with India’s crucial Women’s T20 World Cup clash against Australia on June 28.

Women’s World Cup fixture influenced scheduling decision

India Women, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, are set to face Australia in a high-stakes Women’s T20 World Cup encounter at Lord’s on Sunday. The match is scheduled to start at 7:00 pm IST, which would have completely overlapped with the second men’s T20I between India and Ireland had the traditional start time been retained. To address the issue, Cricket Ireland brought forward the start of both T20Is by an hour, ensuring that fans can follow a larger portion of both matches.

Broadcasters agreed to Revised timing

According to Cricbuzz, Cricket Ireland, the organisers of the games, scheduled for Friday (June 26) and Sunday (June 28), are understood to have discussed the matter with the Indian media partner, Sony Sports. In an ideal scenario, the broadcaster would prefer a 7 pm IST start for India’s T20Is, but Sony Sports is believed to have agreed to the revised timing in order to cut down the clash, even if only partially.
