‘I am at the worst of my health and fatigue of entire 2026’: Delhi founder says Bengaluru’s startup talent impressed her, but traffic left her exhausted in just 2 weeks |
‘2 Weeks in Bengaluru Have Annihilated My Health’: Delhi Founder Praises Startup Talent, Blames Traffic for ExhaustionTwo weeks in Bengaluru left Delhi-based founder and investor Abhilasha Purwar impressed by the city’s startup talent — but completely worn out by getting around.Purwar shared her experience on X, saying she was struck by the quality of conversations she had with founders, product managers, software engineers and other people working in the tech ecosystem. For her, that part of Bengaluru was hard to beat. But then came the commute.
Bengaluru’s startup crowd impressed her
Purwar said almost every event and conversation she attended during her stay felt noticeably different from what she usually encounters in Delhi and Gurugram. She particularly praised the knowledge and experience of Bengaluru’s founders, builders, product managers and software engineers.“The product, tech, growth, marketing, revenue, business development understanding… was miles ahead,” she wrote.Purwar, who previously founded Blue Sky Analytics, said the city’s concentration of startup talent was one of the biggest things she took away from the trip. And she clearly wasn’t complaining about the people.
Then the traffic took over
Getting from one place to another, however, was a completely different story.Purwar said even relatively short journeys left her exhausted.A 15-minute trip within Koramangala or a 20-minute journey between Koramangala and HSR, she said, was enough to leave her feeling drained. Her trip to RMZ Ecoworld was another example. While she liked the area itself, she said travelling there and back was so tiring that it overshadowed the experience.“As good as RMZ Ecoworld area was… getting in there from anywhere in BLR to out of there annihilated me,” she wrote. That led her to ask a bigger question: why does a city with such a concentration of skilled professionals still struggle with infrastructure and everyday mobility?
‘How do you all do this?’
Purwar also wondered whether Bengaluru’s huge talent pool is part of the reason people put up with the traffic. Her argument was that professionals want to be close to other founders, builders and tech workers, even if that means spending a significant amount of time travelling. She said she mostly stayed within the Indiranagar, Koramangala, HSR and APR areas during her two-week visit.Yet despite covering what might seem like a relatively small part of the city, she said she was feeling more exhausted than she had at any other point in 2026.“I did only Indiranagar – Koramangala – HSR – APR circuit and I am at the worst of my health and fatigue of entire 2026,” she wrote.
She still wants to be around Bengaluru’s talent
Interestingly, Purwar’s experience hasn’t put her off Bengaluru’s startup ecosystem.Quite the opposite. She said she still wants to spend more time around the city’s founders and tech community. It’s the commute she’s struggling to understand.“And I really need to be and want to be around the Bangalore talent. What supplements are yall taking?” she joked. Her post has since opened up a familiar conversation around Bengaluru: a city packed with some of India’s best startup and technology talent, but where simply getting from one neighbourhood to another can sometimes feel like a full day’s work.
