Gulmarg’s gondola ride resumes after a month SRINAGAR: J&K CM Omar Abdullah Thursday re-opened Gulmarg’s popular gondola (cable car) ride that was closed on May 25 after a technical snag left more than 300 tourists stranded for nearly seven hours. Gulmarg’s gondola is among the world’s highest ropeways.Omar said operations were resumed after the manufacturer, a French engineering firm, visited the site and expressed satisfaction about the repair work.“We feared that Gulmarg would wear a deserted look once the gondola was shut but tourists continued to visit, and tourism activities remained largely unaffected.
