AAP’s padyatra enters Day 3 in UP The Aam Aadmi Party’s ‘Rojgaar Do – Samajik Nyay Do’ padyatra continued its outreach efforts as the foot march entered its third day on Friday, moving from Bikapur in Ayodhya to Kurebhar in Sultanpur. The march, led by AAP UP in-charge and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, passed through Khajurahat, where residents gathered along the route.Addressing the participants, Singh said that the padyatra aims to draw attention to unemployment and issues concerning Dalits, backward groups and other communities. He said the campaign sought “employment for youth and an end to discrimination.” He added, “Ram Rajya will be possible only when everyone gets equal opportunities and every hand gets work. Society cannot progress without employment and justice.”Singh also criticised the BJP-led state government over paper leaks and alleged irregularities in recruitment exams. Citing vacancies across departments, he said more than 2 lakh posts were vacant in the Education Department, around 50,000 in Health and Medical Services and over 1 lakh in Police and Security Services, highlighting how the gap between sanctioned posts and appointments has affected job seekers.Referring to incidents involving Dalits and backward communities, Sanjay Singh alleged discrimination in various institutions. “Democracy cannot be strong until the last person in society gets justice,” he said.Commenting on AAP’s win in the Tarn Taran by-election in Punjab, Singh said the result reflected public support for the party’s approach to governance. “The Tarn Taran victory shows that people want development, education, and jobs — and that is exactly what AAP stands for,” he said. The 13-day march, covering nearly 200 km, will travel through Sultanpur and Amethi before concluding in Prayagraj.End of ArticleFollow Us On Social MediaVideosPakistan Rejects Taliban Narrative And Says Rising Terror From Afghan Soil Can No Longer Be IgnoredNDA Sweeps Bihar, Nitish Kumar Prepares for 10th CM Oath; A Look Back at ‘Sushasan Babu’s’ JourneyPiyush Goyal Says India Ready For WTO Leadership, Rejects Reform Agendas Pushed By Developed NationsJ&K Police Confirm 9 Killed in Nowgam Blast After Explosives Recovered From Faridabad Blows UpPM Modi Predicts Major Congress Split After NDA’s Bihar Win And Warns Allies Of Growing Instability‘Bengal Is Far-Fetched…’ Bengal Minister Shashi Panja Hits Back at PM Modi’s Jungle Raj Jibe‘Very Bleak Message To World’: South Africa Envoy Condemns Delhi Blast And Seeks Joint Action“All options open…” Piyush Goyal on ongoing India-Canada talks after two rounds of discussionsUN Must Reform Now: India Demands Expansion of Both Permanent And Non-Permanent UNSC Member StatesDeadly Explosion At Nowgam Station Exposes Scale Of 360 Kg Urban Terror Cache Seized From Faridabad123PhotostoriesMumbai’s Big Shift: Inside BMC’s Plan for a 1,000-Dog Mulund Shelter7 animals with the most attractive and expressive eyes! Not Alia Bhatt, Deepika Padukone, or Rekha, THIS veteran actress rules as India’s richest star with Rs. 7,000 crore fortuneFood-themed cute nicknames for baby boys and girlsIndia’s First Private Railway Station in Bhopal Promises Luxury and Comfort Like Never BeforeHow to raise kids who don’t give up easilyJaipur Installs Giant Air-Cleaning Towers as AQI Nears 200—Will They Really Help?Leading ladies who turned debut hits into overnight stardom10 dog breeds that are kid friendlyThe best book genres for kids to boost brain development123Hot PicksAlinagar Election ResultRaghopur Election ResultBihar Election Result 2025Gold rate todaySilver rate todayPublic Holidays NovemberBank Holidays NovemberTop TrendingLaMelo BallGiannis AntetokounmpoJoel EmbiidAidan HutchinsonNHL Trade RumorLatin GrammyDak PrescottBrazilian Bodybuilder Found DeadPercy HarvinStephen Curry

Jan Suraj Party expressed disappointment after drawing a blank in the Bihar assembly elections, attributing their loss to NDA’s cash transfer scheme for women and vote polarization due to the Delhi bomb blast. The party also alleged malpractices during the polls, with results exceeding their expectations. NEW DELHI: After drawing blank in Bihar assembly elections, Jan Suraj party on Saturday expressed disappointed over its performance and claimed that votes shifted in favour of NDA to prevent RJD from coming to power.Party president Uday Singh said that NDA’s decision to roll out Rs 10,000 to 75 lakh women under Mukyamantri Mahila Rozgar Yojana had the biggest impact on the assembly results.‘Misa-Priyanka Ko Dickey Mein…’: Yashwant Deshmukh’s Message to RJD–Cong After NDA’s Bihar Win“The cash transfer to women’s accounts played a major role in the NDA’s victory in the Bihar polls. This support came while the Model Code of Conduct was in place. A woman who is ready to do any work for an entire day for Rs 500 will naturally cast her vote for Rs 10,000. We are disappointed with our performance in the Bihar polls. In the last 2–3 days, our votes shifted to the NDA to prevent the RJD from coming to power,” Uday Singh said.”The Delhi bomb blast had an impact in Seemanchal, as it was used to polarise votes. We failed to convince Muslim voters, and this is an area where we clearly fell short,” he added.Responding to a query on whether Prashant Kishor would remain active in politics as the JD(U) won more than 25 seats, Singh said, “You should ask this question to Kishor only”.Meanwhile, Jan Suraaj party’s state unit chief Manoj Bharti said that Bihar assembly election results were beyond party’s imagination. He also alleged malpractices during the election.”The results were beyond our imagination. Ever since they were announced, we have been discussing various aspects of what went wrong. One possibility that can’t be ruled out is malpractice during the election,” he said.”Another major reason we see is the distribution of Rs 10,000 into women’s accounts right before the elections, which may have had the biggest impact on the results,” he added. The newly formed Jan Suraaj Party, founded by election strategist-turned-politician Prashant Kishor, faced a major setback in the 2025 Bihar Assembly Election, failing to secure a single seat despite contesting in almost all 243 constituencies.Prashant Kishor officially launched the Jan Suraaj Party in Patna on October 2, 2024, stating that the party had been active since 2022.At the time, Kishor had vowed that if elected to power, he would immediately lift the liquor ban in Bihar and use the tax revenue to upgrade the education system. Throughout his campaign, Kishor emphasised employment, infrastructure, law and order in Bihar and yet failed to win a single seat.Despite the high-profile launch and campaign promises, the debutant party suffered poor results across constituencies. In Tarapur, its candidate Santosh Kumar managed only 3,898 votes.Meanwhile, NDA registered a historic landslide victory in the 2025 Bihar Elections, winning 202 of the 243 seats in the state; meanwhile, the Mahagathbandhan could only secure 35 seats.NDA secured a three-fourths majority in the 243-member House. This is the second time the NDA has crossed the 200 mark in the assembly polls. In the 2010 polls, it had won 206 seats. In the NDA, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won 89 seats, Janata Dal (United) won 85, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) (LJPRV) won 19, Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) (HAMS) won five, and Rashtriya Lok Morcha won four seats. The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) won 25 seats, Indian National Congress 6, Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) (Liberation) – CPI(ML)(L) – two, Indian Inclusive Party (IIP) – one, and Communist Party of India (Marxist) – CPI(M) – one seat. All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) won five seats, and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) got one seat. The Bihar assembly elections were conducted across two phases on November 6 and 11, respectively. Bihar recorded a historic 67.13% voter turnout, the highest since 1951, with women voters outpacing men (71.6% vs 62.8%).About the AuthorTOI News DeskThe TOI News Desk comprises a dedicated and tireless team of journalists who operate around the clock to deliver the most current and comprehensive news and updates to the readers of The Times of India worldwide. The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has reacted to its significant defeat in the Bihar assembly elections, stating it is not despondent despite a crushing loss to the ruling NDA. The party emphasized that public service is an ongoing journey with inevitable ups and downs, vowing to continue raising the voice of the poor. Tejashwi Yadav NEW DELHI: The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), reacting for the first time to its major setback in the Bihar assembly election results, said on Saturday that it is not “despondent” despite suffering a crushing defeat at the hands of the ruling NDA, which secured a landslide victory with 202 seats. In a post from its official handle on X, the party framed the results as part of the natural “ups and downs” of public life. The message, originally written in Hindi, loosely translates to: “Public service is an unceasing process, an endless journey. Ups and downs are inevitable. There is no despondency in defeat, and no arrogance in victory. The Rashtriya Janata Dal is a party of the poor and will continue to raise their voice.”The RJD, which was the largest party in the Mahagathbandhan, saw its tally collapse from 75 to just 25 seats — one of its most disappointing performances since 2010. The dramatic slide, which resulted in the loss of over 100 seats to NDA allies, came despite the coalition uniting behind Tejashwi Yadav as its chief ministerial face.Overall, the Mahagathbandhan vote share and seat count fell sharply, ending below the 40-seat mark and far from government formation. In contrast, the BJP emerged as the strongest performer within the NDA, winning 89 seats — its highest-ever tally in Bihar. The JD(U), led by Nitish Kumar, secured 85 seats, while Chirag Paswan’s LJP (RV) posted an impressive strike rate by winning 19 of the 29 seats it contested. NEW DELHI: Congress leader Ajay Maken on Saturday expressed concerns over the Bihar assembly election results announced on Friday, where the party faced a major setback, winning less than 10% of the seats it contested and ending in single digits.Speaking to reporters, Maken said there were “question marks” over the entire electoral process and claimed the results were unexpected for all alliance partners.NDA Sweeps Bihar, Nitish Kumar Prepares for 10th CM Oath; A Look Back at ‘Sushasan Babu’s’ Journey”There has been a question mark over the entire election process right from the beginning. When that is the case, results will be unexpected like this. There was never a strike rate like this. Even Congress didn’t have a strike rate like this in 1984, as is the case with the BJP in these elections,” Maken was quoted as saying by ANI.“Something is amiss,” Maken said, adding that workers from across Bihar had reported alleged discrepancies.Maken also added that the party and its allies would examine all available data, including Form 17C and voter lists, before presenting their findings.
