Amit Shah, Rahul Gandhi in parliament NEW DELHI: Union home minister Amit Shah and leader of opposition Rahul Gandhi exchanged sharp remarks in Parliament on Friday during the debate on the women’s reservation bill, with Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also drawing references from them.Rahul Gandhi, while speaking in the Lok Sabha, praised his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, saying, “Yesterday I saw my sister achieve something in five minutes that I have not been able to do in 20 years of my political career.”He further said the moment was about “making Union home minister Amit Shah smile”, referring to Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s ‘Chanakya’ remark in the House a day before.On Thursday, Shah was seen smiling after Priyanka Gandhi Vadra made a veiled swipe at him, saying that the BJP’s political strategy was so sharp that even ancient strategist Chanakya would be surprised.Speaking later on Friday, Amit Shah targeted Rahul Gandhi and said, “He should learn from his sister Priyanka how to speak in Parliament,” in a reaction to Rahul’s earlier ‘magician’ remark directed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”The magician of Balakot, demonetisation, Sindoor has been suddenly caught…everybody knows there is a partnership between the magician and the businessman,” Rahul Gandhi had said, drawing strong protests from the goverment MPs.The special session of Parliament on the constitutional amendment bill failed to secure the required two-thirds majority on Friday. Out of 528 members who voted, 298 supported it and 230 opposed it.
