Amarnath Yatra JAMMU: The second batch of pilgrims departed the Yatri Niwas base camp for the holy cave shrine of Shri Amarnath Ji early Friday. As a precautionary measure, J&K administration issued an advisory late Thursday, warning that non-registered yatris would not be allowed to undertake the yatra.Of 3,865 pilgrims in the second batch, 1,735 left via the shorter Baltal route and 2,130 opted for the traditional Nunwan-Pahalgam route, escorted by armoured vehicles and security personnel.The official advisory urged pilgrims to arrive in J&K only after completing registration in advance, stating that tatkal registration slots were extremely limited. “It is not possible to accommodate thousands of pilgrims arriving in J&K without registrations under the tatkal facility.
