NEW DELHI: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Satyendar Jain was arrested in connection with alleged corruption in the Delhi Jal Board, an official told news agency ANI.The Delhi government’s Anti-Corruption Branch (ABC) has arrested six people in connection with the case.Those arrested include former Delhi minister Satyendar Kumar Jain, former Delhi Jal Board CEO Udit Prakash Rai, former contractual consultant Ankit Srivastava, and three private persons, Nagendra Yadav, Raja Kumar Kurra and Pankaj Verma.The arrests were made in connection with an FIR registered by the Anti-Corruption Branch on May 11, 2024, under provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act and the Indian Penal Code.The case includes charges under provisions relating to bribery, criminal breach of trust, cheating and criminal conspiracy.The case was registered on the complaint of Directorate of Vigilance, GNCTD regarding large-scale irregularities, manipulation of tender conditions and criminal conspiracy in the tendering process relating to augmentation/upgradation of Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) of the Delhi Jal Board (DJB).Kejriwal, Sisodia attack BJPAAP chief and former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal attacked the BJP over Jain’s arrest, saying his party colleague was arrested on the “BJP’s behest”.Calling the case ‘fake,’ Kejriwal said: “The BJP’s cup of sins is now full. NEW DELHI: To promote the expansion of PNG network and ensure more families start using piped gas in their kitchens, the government on Tuesday approved an incentive scheme promising additional lower-priced domestic gas to distribution companies for each new connection activated by them.According to the government, city gas distribution (CGD) companies have made provision for more than 1.7 crore domestic PNG connections across the country, but the actual number of billed or active connections is only over 1.1 crore. NEW DELHI: AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Monday reacted sharply to the arrest of former Delhi minister Satyendar Jain in an alleged corruption case linked to the Delhi Jal Board, accusing the BJP of targeting political opponents and calling the action part of its “dictatorship”.Jain was arrested by the Delhi government’s Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) in connection with alleged irregularities in the tendering process for the augmentation and upgradation of sewage treatment plants of the Delhi Jal Board. NEW DELHI: AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Monday reacted sharply to the arrest of former Delhi minister Satyendar Jain in an alleged corruption case linked to the Delhi Jal Board, accusing the BJP of targeting political opponents and calling the action part of its “dictatorship”.Jain was arrested by the Delhi government’s Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) in connection with alleged irregularities in the tendering process for the augmentation and upgradation of sewage treatment plants of the Delhi Jal Board. Five others were also arrested in the case, including former DJB CEO Udit Prakash Rai, former contractual consultant Ankit Srivastava and three private individuals.Reacting to the arrest, Kejriwal said, “Satyendra Jain ji has once again been arrested at the behest of the BJP. Just a short while ago, everyone still remembers the ordeal they put him through by throwing him in jail. FIP has identified certain medicines that may impact flight safety by causing drowsiness or sedation; impairing judgement or reaction time; reducing alertness and resulting in a positive or non-negative drug test. NEW DELHI: As the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) reviews the dope test requirement for flight crew members, the Federation of Indian Pilots (FIP) has asked the regulator to amend the current requirement for an operator to subject at least 10 per cent of pilots to this test annually to at least 25 per cent. FIP president Captain CS Randhawa has said in a mail to DGCA chief Vir Vikram Yadav that all stakeholders must establish a pilot “psychoactive-substance and medication awareness programme” to make sure every pilot understands “certain prescription medicines, over-the-counter (OTC) medicines, herbal preparations, supplements and other commonly available products may contain substances that can affect alertness, performance or produce a finding in a drug or alcohol test.”FIP has identified certain medicines that may impact flight safety by causing drowsiness or sedation; impairing judgement or reaction time; reducing alertness and resulting in a positive or non-negative drug test. “Particular attention should be given to: cough and cold preparations, as some preparations may contain alcohol, sedating antihistamines or other active ingredients that may affect fitness for duty. Antihistamines and anti-allergy medicines (that may)may cause significant sedation and impaired alertness; sleep and anxiety medicines; strong pain-relieving medicines; prescription psychiatric or neurological medicines; herbal and traditional medicines and supplements and performance products and alcohol-containing medicines and preparations.” It has recommended a “check before you take” principle for pilots and that they should not start taking a new medicine without checking it for these things.“A minimum percentage established several years ago should not remain static when the aviation environment, fleet size, pilot population and operational intensity have changed substantially.
