Those who breach the security of daughters and traders have only two places to go — they are either in jail or in hell,” Adityanath said.He also linked development and governance to the election of “good public representatives”, saying that the state’s progress was a result of the choices made by voters.”When good public representatives are elected, good governments come and the results are also good. This development, prosperity and employment are the result of the hard work of the public representatives whom you elected,” he said.The chief minister said Uttar Pradesh had faced a severe deficit in development and public services before 2017.”Before 2017, there was neither development nor security nor respect in Uttar Pradesh. NEW DELHI: The Bombay high court on slammed the Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA), warning of contempt action against officials after the department refused to lift the suspension of food licences of five restaurants at the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) premises despite a fresh inspection finding them 88% compliant with food safety rules.“Tired of scolding the department and officers,” the division bench of Acting Chief Justice Ravindra Ghuge and Justice Gautam Ankhad said the FDA had taken a “pedantic instead of pragmatic view” despite the court’s earlier direction to reconsider the matter. The court ultimately vacated the suspension orders, allowing the five eateries at the MCA premises in Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) to reopen.The MCA had challenged the FDA’s decision to suspend the restaurants’ licences over alleged hygiene violations and issues relating to third-party operations. A fresh inspection conducted on Thursday found the eateries to be 88% compliant with food safety requirements.However, the FDA had initially continued with the suspension, citing the fact that the restaurants were being operated by M/s Shirke Infrastructure, while the licences were registered in the MCA’s name.On Saturday, the FDA told the court that it would issue a fresh notice to the MCA, give it an opportunity to be heard on its contractual arrangement with Shirke Infrastructure and then pass a reasoned order.Accepting the undertaking, the court said the restaurants could reopen since the latest inspection had found them compliant. “There is no provision in the law that prohibits the same,” the bench observed.The court recalled that it had, during the previous hearing, specifically directed FDA officials to apply their minds and take a pragmatic approach to the licence issue.“However, despite clearly saying this, the FDA has disobeyed our order and taken a pedantic view instead of a pragmatic view. We are tired of scolding the department and officers all the time. It is now time to pass stinging orders. We will issue contempt action against the concerned officers. Multiple factors like the last-minute pullout by on of the three launch airlines; Delhi’s IGI Airport operating way below its existing and still expandable capacity and Noida International Airport’s (NIA) connectivity woes with Delhi have meant a much lower than originally expected air traffic at the new hub that stated operations on June 15. Zurich Airport International AG is NIA’s primary developer and concessionaire.Zurich Airport has said in its outlook for NIA: “Slower ramp up expected due to challenging geo political environment with near time performance remaining subject to elevated uncertainty. Route network will continue to expand with international services expected to follow. Strong confidence in the long term growth potential and attractive fundamentals of the Indian aviation market.”It said NIA saw 104 flights and 25,000 passengers in June. This rose to 1,044 flights and 77,000 passengers in July. The airport’s HY 16 EBIDTA loss is estimated about million.IndiGo is the biggest operator at NIA, with Akasa having a few flights. Air India Express, which was to be the third launch airlines, had pulled out due to mounting losses of AI group. Setting up a new base means incurring significant expense, something AI wanted to avoid at this time.The going was never going to be easy for NIA, the first second airport to open in an Indian urban conglomerate without either the pre-existing hub operating to capacity (like Mumbai CSMIA); being constrained (like Goa Dabolim) or the older one shutting down (like Bengaluru HAL, Hyderabad Begumpet and Visakhapatnam when Bhogapuram opens in a couple of months). The new airports in Hyderabad and Bengaluru are almost as far as Delhiites find NIA to be but travellers simply didn’t have any option but to trudge the distance. Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida and Ghaziabad, however, have an option that’s closer, better connected and more affordable multi modal transport.When it was coming up amid the boom post Covid boom in air travel, NIA was expected to have a tough time till 2030 when IGIA was to saturate by reaching its peak capacity of about 13-14 crore passengers annually (CPA). IGIA currently has a capacity of 11 CPA and handled less than 8 crore passengers last year.
