Several staff and crew members were injured after a Lufthansa flight’s nose gear collapsed on Thursday at Germany’s Frankfurt airport.“Passengers had not yet boarded,” a company spokesperson said in a statement, adding that crew members and ground staff were on board the aircraft at the time of the incident, as quoted by Reuters, citing Bloomberg report.The company further confirmed that, “Several staff members were injured and are currently receiving medical treatment.”The incident occurred at 12.45 pm local time (1045 GMT), and the jet was scheduled to depart for Los Angeles as flight LH450, as per details given by Lufthansa in the report. “We are currently investigating the exact circumstances with the relevant authorities,” the company stated.Lufthansa’s 787-9 is among the newer aircraft in its fleet, part of the group’s broader strategy to phase out less efficient jets and simplify its fleet mix.
