Bengaluru techie spots neighbour filming her while bathing, fears social media leak; accused held
BENGALURU: A 23-year-old software engineer at a private firm has alleged that she was secretly recorded while bathing on the night of April 29. Following her complaint, police arrested her neighbour after discovering the video on his mobile phone.The accused, identified as Karthik, in his 20s, has been remanded to judicial custody. According to the complaint filed by the woman, a resident of Garudacharpalya in Mahadevapura, the incident occurred between 9.30pm and 9.40pm. She stated that while she was bathing, she noticed an unidentified person recording her on a mobile phone. Alarmed, she screamed, after which the phone was quickly moved out of her sight.The next day, she approached Mahadevapura police and filed a complaint, expressing fear that the recorded video could be circulated or uploaded on social media. A case under BNS Sections 77 (voyeurism) and 79 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) has been registered.
