Suniel Shetty plans Char Dham pilgrimage, praises arrangements in Rishikesh: ‘The police are working round the clock’
Suniel Shetty has shared a positive account of his Char Dham Yatra experience after reaching Rishikesh, saying the pilgrimage arrangements were smooth despite heavy crowds and intense heat. The actor said traffic management, police presence and other arrangements were working well as thousands of pilgrims gathered for the annual religious journey. He also said he plans to undertake the Char Dham pilgrimage during his next visit.

According to the Money Control, Suniel Shetty spoke about the ongoing Char Dham Yatra after arriving in Rishikesh. He said his experience was different from the usual complaints about crowding, traffic and poor planning during the pilgrimage season.“People often hear complaints about traffic congestion, overcrowding, and poor arrangements during the pilgrimage, but my experience was completely different,” he shared.
He said the yatra begins from Rishikesh, where thousands of pilgrims from across India had gathered. Char Dham Yatra 2026 picks up pace
Suniel Shetty also said he wants to join the pilgrimage himself. “I plan to undertake the Char Dham pilgrimage during my next visit,” he said.The yatra officially gained momentum after the Kedarnath Temple reopened on April 22. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami attended the reopening event.The temple was decorated for the occasion, and rituals were performed with devotion. The full Char Dham circuit includes Badrinath Temple, Gangotri Temple and Yamunotri Temple. Gangotri and Yamunotri opened earlier on Akshaya Tritiya.This year, authorities have focused on making the pilgrimage safer and smoother. Steps include online registrations, stronger crowd management and efforts to promote a cleaner, greener yatra.Suniel’s comments came as a positive note amid the large turnout.
