Photo credit: PTI NEW DELHI: Union home minister Amit Shah’s reply to a supporter waiting for his roadshow in poll-bound West Bengal went viral on social media on Thursday, drawing attention to an exchange on Instagram.Shah shared a sunset video on Instagram with the caption, taking a swipe at the ruling TMC, “The sun of the TMC’s corruption and hooliganism has set.”Commenting on his post, a user urged him to arrive soon for the roadshow in Madhyamgram Assembly constituency in North 24 Parganas, saying BJP supporters had been waiting in the heat.“Jaldi aa jaiye, Amit ji…khade hai hum log road show k liye garmi me bohot der se (Come fast, Amit ji… we have been standing in the heat for so long for your roadshow),” the user wrote.To which Shah replied, “Sorry for the delay. Reaching there in 10 mins.” -Shah later held the roadshow to campaign for BJP candidate Anindya Raju Banerjee, who is contesting against Trinamool Congress MLA Rathin Ghosh in Madhyamgram, ANI reported.Sharing visuals from the event on X, the Union home minister wrote, “The people of Madhyamgram Assembly Constituency have not forgotten the atrocities committed against women in Sandeshkhali. This surge of people spilling over during the roadshow is a symbol of the end of the grassroots regime.”Meanwhile, polling for phase I of the West Bengal assembly elections ended at 6 pm on Thursday, with voter turnout recorded at 91.83%, according to the Election Commission.
