PTI photo of protests outside CBSE HQ office. NEW DELHI: CBSE has migrated all answer-sheet records and related examination data from infrastructure managed by Hyderabad-based Coempt Eduteck Pvt Ltd to govt-controlled Amazon Web Services (AWS) servers to strengthen data security and restore confidence in its digital evaluation ecosystem, reports Manash Gohain. The move comes amid the probe into the board’s controversial on-screen marking (OSM) rollout and the board’s initiating an inquiry into the procurement of the service and a broader review of its digital examination architecture following complaints over scanned answer sheets, portal glitches and alleged cybersecurity vulnerabilities. Independent researchers had raised concerns about alleged vulnerabilities in systems linked to the digital evaluation process, prompting demands for stronger safeguards around student records. A senior education ministry official said the migration was intended to ensure that all sensitive data remained under direct govt control while reviews were conducted. “All answer-sheet records and associated digital assets have been shifted to govt-managed AWS infrastructure. The objective is to strengthen security, ensure greater oversight and eliminate any concerns regarding custody of examination-related data,” the official told TOI. The move coincides with the final day to apply for CBSE’s Class XII re-evaluation and verification process, the window for which closes at midnight on June 7. Board data shows that by June 4, the portal had processed 70,433 applications, including 63,119 requests for re-evaluation and 7,314 for verification of marks. A one-member committee headed by S Radha Chauhan, chairperson of Capacity Building Commission, is examining the 2025 OSM tender process, including allegations of “structural dilutions” in bidding conditions that may have favoured Coempt Eduteck.About the AuthorManash Pratim GohainManash Pratim Gohain is a seasoned journalist with over two decades at The Times of India, where he has built a rich body of work spanning education policy, politics, and governance. Another 4.6% had permanently shifted, 1.7% had died, 0.6% were registered at multiple places, and 0.2% were deleted under the “others” category.Final voter roll on August 11Of the UT’s 4.28 lakh electors, just over 3 lakh, or 70.3%, submitted enumeration forms on June 4, when the SIR was announced. The remaining were removed from the draft roll.”The latest survey by the health department put the UT’s population at 6.8 lakh, of which around 3 lakh were migrants,” an officer involved in SIR told TOI.While 29.7% is the highest rate of deletion so far in any state/UT at the draft roll stage, it is not the final figure, as deleted names can be added back during the claims and objections period.
