. How do you see the political and economic ties between India and the Netherlands in the context of what’s happening in the rest of the world?n Ties have always been strong, for example in field of water and agriculture, but also the large companies of the Netherlands that have always been active here in India, like Philips. The recent geopolitical developments give an extra impetus to the importance of our ties. That’s what my visit was also about to see how in specific areas we can do more. We now have a letter of intent in the field of security and defence where we’re looking at more intensive cooperation. We also signed an MoU in the field of semiconductors and modern technologies. We are very like minded countries, we are democracies, we are countries that believe in the international rule of law in free trade and those countries need to stick together. How do you see the India EU FTA strengthening this relationship with the Netherlands and India?n It’s not easy to have a FTA with the EU because you have 27 completely different countries with different economies and different interests. It is in all of our interest to reach an agreement with India on an FTA soon for same reasons I mentioned earlier. We believe in same values, same norms. We are all democracies and we have a lot to offer to each other.Do you see the Netherlands emerging as a major destination for Indian students?n Already there are many Indian students in the Netherlands, and not only students, but also technical students that after their studies found work, in one of our high tech companies like ASML. I heard that there were around 10 cricket clubs now around Eindhoven. That’s testimony to the great relationship that we already have in that field. We also have a very large Indian diaspora in the Netherlands . We are a society where Indians feel at home, where they thrive and contribute to our economy and society.Which are the sectors where cooperation can begin in the near future?n In the field of semiconductors, I visited one of the Dutch companies here, which is called NXP, which is a spin off of Philips and they do design and production of high end mobility chips. They already design most of its high end chips here in India. This company is providing over 3,000 jobs here in India working on the high end of the semiconductor industry. We want to invest more in R&D together, we want to put more effort in talent development. There’s a big wish on the Indian side to also have more in the production facilities of semiconductors. There’s a broader basis that we already can build on with regards to semiconductors. How do you see the situation in Europe in the context of the Ukraine war? Do you expect the war to end soon and what are the implications for the region?n We all want this war to end soon. It’s been going on for almost four years at an incredible cost for Ukraine, but also for Russia. We all hope that we will soon reach a ceasefire and hopefully a durable peace agreement. That’s why Europe is actively engaging in the negotiations that are now ongoing, led by the US and where we see that Ukraine is willing to come to the table and reach a deal and an agreement, and we hope that Moscow will do so too.End of ArticleFollow Us On Social MediaVideosDelhi HC Grants Bail To Kuldeep Sengar; Victim’s Sister Says ‘Put Us In Jail To Keep Us Safe’India Summons Bangladesh High Commissioner Over Violence Against Hindus, Protests Continue”No Cases Filed”: Prachy Accuses Yunus Administration Of Protecting Convicted TerroristsExperts Warn India As Yunus Loses Control In Bangladesh After Hadi Killing Sparks Unrest NationwidePAN-Aadhaar Deadline Nears: How To Link Before December 31 Or Risk Inoperative PAN From Next Year“Neither Janmat Nor Janpath”: Bjp Alleges Growing Rebellion Against Rahul Gandhi Within CongressPak PM Sharif’s Party Leader Threatens India, Warns Missiles Will Respond If Bangladesh Is TargetedIndia’s BrahMos Missile Goes Global As India Closes 0m Defence Pacts With Vietnam And Indonesia’Make Her PM & See…’: Congress MP Endorses Priyanka Gandhi; BJP Takes ‘No Faith In Rahul’ DigHanuman Chalisa Verse Echoes In Delhi As Hindu Lynching In Bangladesh Triggers High Voltage Protests123PhotostoriesBollywood’s tumultuous 2025: Saif Ali Khan’s attack; Deepika Padukone’s exit from ‘Kalki-2898 AD’ to ‘Sardaar Ji 3’ controversySanskrit baby names that means loveViral parenting moments of 2025 and what we can take from themDancing skylights: Why do auroras shine in different magical colours across skies?New seasons releasing on OTT in 2026: From ‘Bridgerton 4’ to ‘Euphoria 3’From Rajat Bedi to Akshaye Khanna: Best Bollywood comebacks of 202510 local Indian Christmas delicacies that are a must try5 latest bridal nath designs to elevate your traditional Indian wedding lookCosmic Fungi explained: The strange radiation-eating organisms found at Chernobyl8 classic Chicken Soups to keep you warm this winter123Hot PicksUAE WeatherPAN-Aadhaar linkingGold price predictionGold rate todaySilver rate todayPublic Holidays DecemberBank Holidays DecemberTop TrendingShane Bieber and Kara Net WorthMLB Trade RumorsMunetaka MurakamiConnor Bedard Net WorthAleksander Barkov GirlfriendAuston MatthewsJake GuentzelDK MetcalfJade Cargill and Brandon Net WorthMax Holloway Net Worth

The campaign, which emerged last week, rapidly gained traction online through memes and commentary centred on issues such as unemployment, education policy and alleged examination paper leaks. Watch Founder Abhijeet Dipke Alleges Crackdown On Cockroach Janta Party After Massive Social Media BuzzThe trend surfaced following a controversy over remarks allegedly made by CJI Surya Kant during the hearing of a plea seeking senior designation for a lawyer.Meanwhile, the CJP website was taken down on Saturday, prompting founder Abhijeet Dipke to accuse the government of “dictatorial behaviour” through a post on X.Dipke claimed that nearly 10 lakh people had signed up as members of the platform, which has rapidly gained traction among millennials and Gen Z users. The organisation had recently launched an online campaign demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged systemic failures in the education sector and the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak controversy.Dipke also claimed he had received death threats following the campaign and alleged that, instead of taking action against those responsible for examination irregularities, authorities were targeting the satirical movement itself.According to posts shared through backup social media handles, the movement said it had crossed “one million registered Cockroaches” within a week, while its Instagram accounts had amassed millions of followers before access was lost.About the AuthorTOI News DeskThe TOI News Desk comprises a dedicated and tireless team of journalists who operate around the clock to deliver the most current and comprehensive news and updates to the readers of The Times of India worldwide. West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee after she walked out of the house of Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC) chief Pratik Jain during an ED raid (ANI photo) NEW DELHI: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday moved the Supreme Court seeking directions for the registration of an FIR against West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banarjee, the DGP and the Kolkata police commissoner for “obstructing probe, tampering with and destroying evidence in a multi-state money laundering case against I-PAC”.Asserting the requirement for an FIR, the anti-money laundering agency said “protectors of law became party to a serious cognizable offence” as they “intimidated and threatened ED officers and snatched files and electronic evidence containing incriminating material.”The central probe agency also said it had approached the Calcutta high court for the CBI probe into the incident but “the clout enjoyed by the CM and her supproters was used to create a ruckus in the courtroom forcing the judge to adjourn hearing”.The ED on Saturday moved the apex court alleging interference and obstruction by the Mamata Banerjee-led West Bengal government during search operations at the Kolkata headquarters of political consultancy firm Indian Political Action Committee(I-PAC) and the residence of its director Pratik Jain. Later, the state government filed a caveat seeking to be heard before any adverse order is passed. The Bengal government’s caveat was filed after the ED carried out searches on Thursday at I-PAC’s office and Jain’s residence as part of a money laundering probe linked to an alleged multi-crore rupee coal pilferage scam. A caveat allows a party to ensure that no order is issued without giving it an opportunity to present its case. The ED has alleged that chief minister Mamata Banerjee entered the raid locations and took away what it described as “key” evidence, including physical documents and electronic devices. Banerjee has rejected the allegations and accused the central agency of overreach. The entire controversy erupted after CM Mamata Banerjee rushed to the house of I-PAC director Pratik Jain amid the raid and accused the Centre of holding political vendetta, alleging that central agencies were being misused ahead of elections.Reacting sharply to the action, Banerjee questioned the role of the ED and Union home minister Amit Shah. She claimed that party documents and data were being seized under the pretext of investigations. She also alleged that voter names were being deleted in West Bengal during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision exercise, linking the moves to the election process.About the AuthorTOI News DeskThe TOI News Desk comprises a dedicated and tireless team of journalists who operate around the clock to deliver the most current and comprehensive news and updates to the readers of The Times of India worldwide. The National Egg Coordination Committee (NECC), the egg rate fixation committee, on Tuesday fixed the rate at Rs 4.30 per egg. A senior official of the NECC said the demand for eggs came down after the state govt stopped procuring eggs for the school noon-meal scheme as annual exams started. A huge volume of eggs were stocked in poultry farms, he added.K Selvaraj, a poultry farmer, alleged that egg traders were fishing in troubled waters. He said traders were asking poultry farmers to sell eggs at 80 paise less than the NECC rate. “The poultry farmers are forced to sell an egg for Rs 3.50 to avoid huge losses. The production cost for an egg stands at Rs 4.50,” he said.Exporters urged the central govt to intervene immediately. They requested the govt to take up the issue through diplomatic channels with the US, Israel and Iran to facilitate safe passage for ships carrying essential commodities.Vegetable exports affectedThe Middle East conflict has affected vegetable and fruit exporters in Trichy. As flights to Middle East from Trichy international airport was cancelled for the fourth consecutive day on Tuesday, dozens of exporters in the region are in a fix to move their consignments to the UAE and Qatar. On average, the Trichy airport handles 600 MT of freight every month, averaging around 20 MT per day. Most of the exports, vegetable, fruits, and flowers are flown to Singapore, while a sizable portion of exporters equally focuses on the Middle East region, mostly to Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah destinations targeting the Indian diaspora. “Exports to Singapore are continuing, but UAE-bound exports are affected, so do the exports to the European market with Dubai as a transit. Puducherry assembly election results 2026 NEW DELHI: The Secular Progressive Alliance (SPA) of Congress and DMK is set to fell short in its bid to form the government in Puducherry, as counting for the April 9 assembly elections was held on Monday. Despite a record voter turnout of 89.87% across the Union territory’s 30 constituencies, SPA candidates are currently leading only on three seats, while the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is set to become Puducherry’s first incumbent government to be re-elected since the Congress in 2006. This marks a setback for the SPA, which had hoped to return to power but was outperformed by the NDA led by chief Minister N Rangasamy of the All India NR Congress, a former Congress leader. Under their arrangement, the grand old party contested 16 seats, with the Dravidian party fielded candidates in 13 constituencies.`ConstituencySPA candidateStatusMannadipetTPR Selvame (Congress)LostThirubuvanaiP Angalane (DMK)TrailingOussuduP Karthikeyan (Congress)WonMangalamSS Rangan (DMK)/K Ragubady (Congress) – friendly fightCounting in progressVillianurR Siva (DMK)LostOzhukaraiM Sivasankar (Congress)Counting in progressKadirkamamAPR Vadivel (DMK)LostIndira NagarN Rajakumar (Congress)Counting in progressThattanchavadyVe Vaithilingam (Congress)LostKamaraj NagarPK Devadoss (Congress)TrailingLawspetM Vaithianathan (Congress)LostKalapetA Senthil Ramesh (DMK)TrailingMuthialpetEeram G Rajendran (Congress)LostRaj BhavanVignesh Kannan (DMK)TrailingOupalamAnnibal Kennedy (DMK)LostOrleampethS Gopal (DMK)TrailingNellithopeV Cartigueyane (DMK)WonMudaliarpetL Sambath (DMK)TrailingAriankuppamViazayalakshmy Djeamourthy (Congress)LostManavelyRK Anantharaman (Congress)TrailingEmbalamM Candassamy (Congress)LostNettapakkamG Anbarasan (Congress)LostBahourR Senthil Kumar (DMK)LeadingNedungaduDinesh Kumar (Congress)LostThirunallarR Kamalkannan (Congress)Counting in progressKaraikal North AM Ranjith (Congress)LostKaraikal SouthAVS Sakthivel Prabu (Congress)Counting in progressNeravy TR PattinamM Nagathiyagarajan (DMK)LostMaheRamesh Parambath (Congress)LostYanamGollapalli Srinivas Ashok (Congress)LostFollow the latest election results 2026, live updates, winner lists, constituency-wise results, party-wise trends and full coverage for Tamil Nadu election results, West Bengal election results, Kerala election results, Assam election results and Puducherry election results results on Times of India.About the AuthorTOI News DeskThe TOI News Desk comprises a dedicated and tireless team of journalists who operate around the clock to deliver the most current and comprehensive news and updates to the readers of The Times of India worldwide.
