Mumbai: A 25-year-old biker employed in a digital marketing company was killed in a road rage incident near Inorbit Mall in Malad (West) on Saturday morning, and the Bangur Nagar police arrested a taxi driver and his passenger in connection with the case.The deceased was identified as Sharik Ansari (25), a Malvani resident, who was heading to his workplace in Malad (West). Cab driver Satyendra Gupta (28) and passenger Sunil Pal (27) are both residents of Laljipada in Kandivli West.Gupta alerted the police over the phone that a biker was involved in a fight with him, but before the police could reach the spot, the biker had been stabbed. “The problem started after the biker crashed into the cab after the cabbie applied the brake. Police said both Ansari and Gupta were travelling from Malwani towards Andheri via Link Road when a heated argument broke out near Mith Chowky Junction while they were driving. “The verbal spat quickly escalated as both continued driving while arguing. The confrontation intensified when they stopped their vehicles near Infiniti Mall in Malad under the Oswal Metro station and got into a physical fight after the cab driver stepped out of his vehicle,” said the police officer.The officer said Ansari was riding behind the taxi, and his bike slightly touched the vehicle. “Gupta then stopped his cab and blocked the biker’s way, following which an altercation broke out. During the argument, Ansari hit the taxi’s windscreen with his helmet and damaged the glass. Gupta then got angry and stabbed him. The passenger, Pal, was also involved in the altercation. Hence, both Gupta and Pal were booked,” said the officer. According to the police, witnesses intervened and rushed Ansari to Criticare Hospital in Malad West, where doctors declared him dead. “The passenger, who is also accused in the case, is into water pump repair work,” said the police. Rather than relying primarily on age, salary, height or horoscope, Mehra says she first seeks to understand the person behind the profile.”I connect deeply with the individuals themselves, rather than just their parents, to understand their current lifestyle, career goals, family values and true preferences,” she says.Potential brides and grooms are pushing background checks to avoid confusion later. That has pushed platforms to double down on user intent. Mehra prefers meeting prospective clients personally, either with their families or in a casual setting, before introducing them to a potential partner. She says her database is built only through trusted references.”If I sense that someone is dodging questions or uncomfortable sharing complete information, I will pause their registration until they are fully ready to be transparent,” she adds. This shows their double standards. They cry for Gaza but remain silent on our Sikh brothers in Pakistan,” BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla said in a video statement.Pakistan, he asserted, has no “moral authority” to “lecture” India or the world on minority rights.”A 125-year-old important gurdwara has been targeted and demolished. This is not the first such incident. Sonia Gandhi (File photo) NEW DELHI: The BJP on Thursday said senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi’s “silence” on the reported demolition of a gurdwara in Pakistan is in sharp contrast to her op-eds on Gaza, and accused her of displaying “double standards.”The attack came days after Sonia Gandhi, in an opinion piece in an English daily, accused the BJP-led central government of remaining silent on the “humanitarian crisis” in Gaza resulting from Israel’s war against Hamas.The Congress parliamentary party chairperson has repeatedly criticised the government over the Gaza issue.”Certain champions of human rights like Sonia Gandhi write op-eds on Gaza but remain silent on Sikhs being mistreated and persecuted in Pakistan, atrocities against Hindus in Pakistan and Bangladesh, or even Muslims in China’s Uyghur region and those killed in Pakistani bombing (in Afghanistan). This shows their double standards. They cry for Gaza but remain silent on our Sikh brothers in Pakistan,” BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla said in a video statement.Pakistan, he asserted, has no “moral authority” to “lecture” India or the world on minority rights.”A 125-year-old important gurdwara has been targeted and demolished. This is not the first such incident. Several sites associated with Guru Nanak Dev have been targeted by Islamist mobs with impunity, and no action is taken against them,” he alleged.Poonawalla further claimed that the Sikh population in Pakistan had declined from around 20 lakh at the time of Partition in 1947 to a few thousand now, saying this reflected the “continued persecution” of the community in the neighbouring country.”It is a 99% decline. No wonder the government of India not only condemns such acts but also safeguards Hindus, Sikhs and other minority communities persecuted in Pakistan,” the BJP spokesperson added.His remarks came a day after India condemned the reported demolition of the historic Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha in Pakistan’s Punjab province, describing it as “highly deplorable” and calling on Islamabad to investigate the incident and bring those responsible to justice.(With PTI inputs)Get the latest India news and live updates. The original land lease is in the name of the late Kulsum Khan, and the property is currently with her 90-year-old sister, Nasreen Khan,” Bhandari said.”When they (the Congress) realise that Saira Vadra cannot get possession of the land through the legal route, they intimidate the occupant. She (Saira) becomes the front, while Priyanka Vadra and Robert Vadra are behind her,” he added.Detailing the alleged attempt to intimidate Nasreen Khan, the BJP leader claimed that the Congress’ local MLA and his supporters tried to force the elderly woman to vacate the property.”Congress MLA Tilak Raj Behar arrived at the property with around 100 supporters late on Wednesday night and threatened Nasreen Khan with dire consequences if she did not vacate the land. Did Priyanka Gandhi Vadra call the Congress MLA and ask him to ensure that her sister-in-law gets possession of the land by intimidating a 90-year-old Muslim woman?” Bhandari asked.He defended his allegation, saying it was based on Nasreen Khan’s own statement, in which she accused Congress workers of trying to get the property handed over to the Vadra family.”The buck doesn’t stop with the Congress MLA; it stops with Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. Congress claims to stand with Muslims and the poor.
