RSS chief Mohan Bhgawat (PTI) NEW DELHI: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has no political agenda and viewing the orgnaisation throught the lens of BJP is a “huge mistake,” said Sangh chief Mohan Bhgawat. Addressing the ‘RSS 100 Vyakhyan Mala’ programme in Kolkata on Sunday, Bhagwat cautioned against viewing the RSS through narrow or comparative frameworks. “If you want to understand the ‘Sangh’, making comparisons will lead to misunderstandings. If you consider the ‘sangh’ to be just another service organisation, you’ll be mistaken,” he said. Viewing ‘Sangh’ Through the Lens of the BJP Is a Huge Mistake, Says RSS Chief Mohan BhagwatHe specifically warned against associating the RSS solely with the BJP. “Many people have a tendency to understand the ‘sangh’ through the lens of the BJP, which is a huge mistake.”Speaking later at a separate event, Bhagwat reiterated that the RSS does not pursue any political agenda and said the organisation works for the betterment, protection of Hindu society. He emphasised that the core objective of RSS is the creation of “sajjan”, or morally upright and virtuous individuals. It has no legal recognition, and this has also been clearly established in the Shiv Sena case.”However most legal experts, with the exception of Kapil Sibal, have been unanimous in highligting the Tenth Schedule’s inability to stop political defections when they acquire the scale of “merger” and said joining of BJP by AAP MPs would not fall foul of the anti-defection law, which approves two-thirds of a legislature party to break away and merge with another party.However, Sanjay Singh cited the Tenth Schedule to say that it clearly provides that any kind of split, even if it involves a two-thirds majority or increases from seven to eight members, has no legal validity.“Therefore, the defection of these seven Rajya Sabha MPs from the AAP is entirely illegal, incorrect, unconstitutional, and against parliamentary rules,” he said, and added that he would submit a letter to the Rajya Sabha Chairman, citing all these rules and demand the complete termination of the membership of all seven MPs.Meanwhile, reiterating his stand, Chadha on Saturday was quoted by news agency PTI as saying that those quitting the party have not done so out of fear but due to a growing sense of “disappointment, disengagement and disgust” with the existing leadership.Party insiders share that AAP’s leadership was aware for the past few days that its MPs had been approached by BJP, sources said. Arvind Kejriwal and Swati Maliwal (R) (File photo) NEW DELHI: Former aide to Arvind Kejriwal and now a BJP leader, Swati Maliwal on Saturday levelled sharp allegations against her former boss, claiming that before becoming chief minister he wore “torn pants”, used a “two-rupee pen” and “drove around in a dilapidated car”, but after coming to power in Delhi, “he built a house worth a hundred crores.”Speaking to news agency ANI, Maliwal contrasted what she described as two very different phases of Kejriwal’s life. Her remarks came a day after Raghav Chadha-led rebellion against the party leadership and merging a 2/3rd chunk of AAP power in Upper House to BJP.Maliwal was among those who joined the breakaway faction.Maliwal, in an unrestrained attack, said, “If anyone is a traitor, it’s Arvind Kejriwal. When he started his movement, he wore torn pants, used a two-rupee pen, and drove around in a completely dilapidated car. We were all inspired, thinking that this man would bring change to the country.”Continuing her criticism, she said, “During the movement, he showed the entire country so many big, sweet dreams, and the country was impressed. But what did he do? As soon as he came to power, he built a house worth a hundred crores. He added a bar, installed carpets worth crores, and bought a refrigerator costing lakhs and crores. His sofa is so luxurious. And now, after the people of Delhi defeated him, he has moved to Punjab.”She also targeted the AAP government in Punjab under chief minister Bhagwant Mann, alleging misuse of power and resources. “They’re using Punjab like an ATM. The man they had me beaten up by was given Z-plus security. Today, he’s been appointed Bhagwant Mann’s chief advisor…The man who used to speak out against VIP protocol, when his convoy moves out, we’re counting fifty cars, but it goes above fifty. So, what constitutes treason? I call acting against one’s core principles treason. Arvind Kejriwal and Swati Maliwal (R) (File photo) NEW DELHI: Former aide to Arvind Kejriwal and now a BJP leader, Swati Maliwal on Saturday levelled sharp allegations against her former boss, claiming that before becoming chief minister he wore “torn pants”, used a “two-rupee pen” and “drove around in a dilapidated car”, but after coming to power in Delhi, “he built a house worth a hundred crores.”Speaking to news agency ANI, Maliwal contrasted what she described as two very different phases of Kejriwal’s life. Her remarks came a day after Raghav Chadha-led rebellion against the party leadership and merging a 2/3rd chunk of AAP power in Upper House to BJP.Maliwal was among those who joined the breakaway faction.Maliwal, in an unrestrained attack, said, “If anyone is a traitor, it’s Arvind Kejriwal. When he started his movement, he wore torn pants, used a two-rupee pen, and drove around in a completely dilapidated car. We were all inspired, thinking that this man would bring change to the country.”Continuing her criticism, she said, “During the movement, he showed the entire country so many big, sweet dreams, and the country was impressed. But what did he do? As soon as he came to power, he built a house worth a hundred crores. He added a bar, installed carpets worth crores, and bought a refrigerator costing lakhs and crores. His sofa is so luxurious. And now, after the people of Delhi defeated him, he has moved to Punjab.”She also targeted the AAP government in Punjab under chief minister Bhagwant Mann, alleging misuse of power and resources. “They’re using Punjab like an ATM. The man they had me beaten up by was given Z-plus security. Today, he’s been appointed Bhagwant Mann’s chief advisor…The man who used to speak out against VIP protocol, when his convoy moves out, we’re counting fifty cars, but it goes above fifty. So, what constitutes treason? I call acting against one’s core principles treason. And there’s no bigger traitor than Arvind Kejriwal…”The dramatic exit of seven AAP Rajya Sabha members on Friday dealt a significant blow to the party’s leadership.
