The latest confirmation came from the production house, which shared a new poster of Rajinikanth holding a gun and once again announced October 15, 2026, as the film’s release date. The poster also carried the tagline, “Alappara Kelapparom,” a popular catchphrase associated with Hukum, the chartbuster song from the first film.The announcement directly addresses the recent buzz surrounding a possible postponement and confirms that the Nelson directorial remains on track for its Dussehra release. Reports had suggested that the team was considering reshoots, but the production house’s latest poster has effectively dismissed speculation of any delay.
Nelson , Rajinikanth, and Anirudh reunite for the big sequel
‘Jailer 2’ brings back Rajinikanth as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, one of the actor’s most popular characters in recent years. Nelson returns to direct the sequel, while Anirudh Ravichander is once again handling the music and background score. The film follows the huge success of ‘Jailer,’ which became one of Rajinikanth’s biggest blockbusters.The sequel was officially announced in January 2025 and went on floors a few months later, with filming reportedly completed in April this year.
‘Ala Bolelo ’ and star cast build buzz for October clash
The makers have already begun their promotional campaign with an announcement teaser and the recently released song ‘Ala Bolelo,’ which featured a special appearance by Shamna Kasim.
