LUCKNOW: Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust appointed three new trustees at its meeting on Wednesday : Delhi-based Mahesh Bhagchandka, a relative of late VHP leader Ashok Singhal; Ayodhya’s Madan Mohan Pandey; and Shikohabad’s Nirmala Yadav.The appointments come as the trust deliberates on the service conditions and standard operating procedure for the post of chief executive officer.Trust members will also consider three names recommended by the selection committee and decide their order of priority.The candidates are expected to be placed in priority order from one to three. After the first-priority candidate is decided, the Trust will approach the person with a remuneration package. If the candidate accepts the offer, the appointment is likely to be announced on Thursday.“Trust members will examine the recommended names and discuss the responsibilities, reporting structure and other terms linked to the post before making the final decision. The appointment will be announced after the selected candidate formally accepts the offer,” said a highly placed source.The selection committee has recommended three names as the main panel including a veteran military personal, and three others as reserve candidates. Of the six candidates proposed under the primary and secondary categories, one is a woman. The three principal recommendations were not initially ranked, with all of them being considered suitable for the post.On Tuesday, the selection committee submitted its detailed report to the Trust. The committee comprised retired Supreme Court judge Justice Pramod Kohli, retired Lieutenant General Vishnu Kant Chaturvedi and Suresh Haware, a retired nuclear scientist and former chairperson of the Shri Saibaba Sansthan Trust in Shirdi.The report outlined the methodology followed during the selection process, which began with 5,585 applications. The exercise involved several rounds of screening, assessment and interaction. Jaipur school demolished after CJP’s interference (PTI ) NEW DELHI: A dilapidated government school building in Rajasthan’s Rampura (Kanwarpura) village, whose poor condition was highlighted by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) last month, was demolished by authorities on Wednesday.Visuals from the spot show the old building being brought down by a bulldozer in the presence of officials from the district administration and education department.“A few days ago, our team was attacked while on their way to inspect this school, which was being run under a broken shed. Jaipur school demolished after CJP’s interference (PTI ) NEW DELHI: A dilapidated government school building in Rajasthan’s Rampura (Kanwarpura) village, whose poor condition was highlighted by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) last month, was demolished by authorities on Wednesday.Visuals from the spot show the old building being brought down by a bulldozer in the presence of officials from the district administration and education department.“A few days ago, our team was attacked while on their way to inspect this school, which was being run under a broken shed. It was subsequently taken out of use, news agency PTI reported.The Rajasthan government had last month announced that a new school building would be constructed at a cost of Rs 18 lakh.Of the total amount, Rs 12 lakh was sanctioned from the District Mineral Foundation Trust (DMFT) on August 13, while another Rs 6 lakh was allocated from the MLA fund.The school came into focus after a CJP team visited Rampura village last month as part of its ‘School Thik Karo’ campaign, which sought to highlight the condition of government schools. NEW DELHI: Kerala chief minister VD Satheesan on Wednesday rejected Sunni cleric and Grand Mufti of India Kanthapuram AP Aboobacker Musliyar’s call for restrictions on women’s participation in public life. He said women must join the mainstream, asserting that such views have no place in a developing Kerala.Speaking to reporters, Satheesan said the state government did not agree with Aboobacker’s position that women should remain at home, adding that even Islam did not require women to be confined to domestic life.”We don’t agree with his statement that women should stay home. It’s not a suitable stand in our developing Keralam. It’s not the 19th century that one should make such statements. Even Islam doesn’t say that. Women should not stay home, but join the mainstream. The people have the right to live a free and liberal life. And also, these types of statements push women centuries back. So, we can’t accept such statements. Our women are free to move. They are best rulers. Our girls are always coming through this society, and we can’t accept such statements,” Krishna told ANI.The controversy followed remarks made by Aboobacker at the Hubbul Rasul Conference in Kochi, where he defended recent directives issued by the Kanthapuram faction of Samastha to local Mahalls on women’s participation in religious celebrations.A circular issued by the organisation directed Madrasas not to allow women to be present among unrelated men at religious events. The Holy Quran says so,” Aboobacker said, while defending the purdah system as a practice intended to protect women’s dignity.He argued that allowing women into public spaces without restrictions could result in “great destruction”, insisting that the measures were intended to honour and protect women rather than diminish them.Aboobacker also said Islam had granted women property and inheritance rights centuries ago to improve their status without requiring them to leave domestic life.
