3 masked men rob Congress leader Alka Lamba’s father’s home in Delhi; CCTV video emerges
NEW DELHI: The house of Congress leader Alka Lamba’s father in west Delhi’s Tagore Garden was allegedly burgled in the early hours of Sunday, with three masked men escaping with cash and jewellery, news agency PTI reported.The incident took place at a house in C-Block, Tagore Garden, under the Rajouri Garden police station area.CCTV cameras installed at the property captured the alleged burglars entering the house and later leaving on a motorcycle. The footage has since circulated widely on social media.According to police, a PCR call about the theft was received at 10.23am, following which a team was sent to the house.“It was found that some unidentified persons have stolen the jewellery and cash from the house. Cash amounting Rs 1.75 lakh, a gold earring, a gold chain and a diamond ring were found stolen,” the Delhi Police statement said.Police said the crime team inspected the property and an FIR was registered at Rajouri Garden police station on a complaint filed by Kanchan Chadha.Lamba, who is the president of the All India Mahila Congress, said three masked men entered her father’s house and took away his savings and jewellery. She added that her 88-year-old father was safe.“The CCTV camera installed at father’s house reveals everything. Three masked men enter the house and, after clearing everything out in 10 minutes, flee on a single bike,” Lamba said in a post on X.She also raised concerns about the safety of people living in Delhi.“If the police wish, they can easily reach the criminals by investigating every CCTV. The first link has already been handed over to the police,” the Congress leader said.Police said investigators are examining CCTV footage from the house and nearby areas to identify and trace the suspects.
