Anirudh began his career with the hugely popular song “Why This Kolaveri Di” from the 2012 film ‘3’. The track became a worldwide sensation and remains among the most recognised Indian songs released online. Since then, he has established himself as one of the leading composers in Tamil cinema. Beyond Indian cinema, Anirudh has also worked with international musicians. He collaborated with Diplo on the remix of Major Lazer’s popular track “Cold Water”.Music composer Anirudh Ravichander has shared an emotional message for Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and actor Vijay, reflecting on their long-standing association following the release of ‘Jana Nayagan’. Looking back at their journey together, the composer thanked Vijay for believing in him across multiple projects and for the memories they created over the years.Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Anirudh posted a picture with Vijay from the sets of the film. Alongside the image, he revisited their collaborations and expressed gratitude for the trust the actor placed in him throughout their successful partnership. He wrote, “It has been a thoroughly amazing and emotional journey with you through JanaNayagan, Leo, Beast, Master and Kaththi Thank you @actorvijay sir for the unlimited trust and memories that I will cherish forever. The music lives on.”

‘Jana Nayagan’ marks their fifth collaboration

‘Jana Nayagan’ is the fifth film to bring Vijay and Anirudh together after ‘Kaththi’, ‘Master’, ‘Beast’, and ‘Leo’. The latest action entertainer also stars Bobby Deol, Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju, Nassar, Prakash Raj, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Narain, and Priyamani in important roles. The film is an official remake of the Telugu hit Bhagavanth Kesari. It also carries added significance as Vijay’s final acting project before his full-time political journey. It is also the first of his films to release after he assumed office as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

‘Jana Nayagan’ continues impressive box office performance

‘Jana Nayagan’ has maintained its strong momentum at the box office during its opening weekend. According to trade tracker Sacnilk, the film earned an estimated Rs 32 crore net in India on Day 4, registering a healthy increase over its Day 3 collection of Rs 28.90 crore. With the latest numbers, the film’s India net collection has reached Rs 124.75 crore. Meanwhile, the India gross collection stands at Rs 145.98 crore. The story revolves around a retired IPS officer who takes responsibility for the daughter of a close friend after his death. He encourages her to overcome childhood trauma and inspires her to fulfil her ambition of joining the Indian Army.
