NEW DELHI: A man who was distributing food to protesters at the Jantar Mantar protest has alleged that he was picked up by police Friday night, questioned, blindfolded and taken to Mussoorie.The protester, Junaid, claimed he was kept blindfolded throughout the night. The next morning, an officer allegedly questioned him about the source of his funding and how he had managed to distribute so much food. The police then took him to Mussoorie and left him there. Junaid took a cab to Delhi on Saturday, he claimed.In a social media video, Junaid said he and a friend were stopped by men, who said they were Delhi Police personnel. Junaid was returning from RML Hospital after he had received treatment for a dog bite.

When questioned by them, Junaid claimed he said that the volunteers received food and water through donations and deliveries by supporters.Junaid said the legal team associated with the students’ protest had contacted him for details. Police said they were looking into his allegations.
