'Trump's signature is worthless': Mojtaba Khamenei calls US 'Great Satan', warns of 'unforgettable lessons' if strikes continue

Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei on Saturday accused the United States of repeatedly violating a 14-point memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between Tehran and Washington, saying the developments had proved that US President Donald Trump’s signature was “utterly worthless and devoid of credibility”.In a written message addressed to the Iranian nation, Khamenei alleged that repeated US breaches of the agreement had exposed Washington’s conduct and warned that Iran would respond if military action continued.“The repeated breaches of the agreement by the Great Satan [the US] regarding the MoU signed by the Presidents of Iran and the US have once again laid bare a fundamental truth: the signature of the US President is utterly worthless and devoid of credibility. Coercion, totalitarianism, and brutality are inseparable components of the US creed and doctrine,” Khamenei wrote. His remarks come after a ceasefire agreement between Iran and the United States collapsed last week, with both sides exchanging strikes, raising concerns over a return to a wider conflict in West Asia.Khamenei further accused Washington of abandoning its commitments and said recent actions had revealed the United States’ intentions. He further said that the United States had “once again revealed its true, unmasked face” through its actions, describing them as “another dark episode of criminality and broken promises”.Warning against further military escalation, Khamenei said any additional US action would invite a response from Iran and its allies.“Now that the American enemy is seeking to escalate the conflict, thereby incurring even heavier costs and further humiliation, it should know that the noble nation of Iran and the Resistance Front have unforgettable lessons in store for it,” he said. The Iranian leader also praised what he described as the resilience of Iranian forces and civilians affected during the recent escalation.“The valour of the Islamic fighters” and the “honour of the courageous people in the southern regions” reflected Iran’s determination in confronting its adversaries, Khamenei said.Calling for domestic unity, he urged Iranians and state institutions to remain vigilant. He called on citizens and government officials to safeguard the country’s dignity and independence, particularly against what he described as the “criminal, cunning US enemy”, while urging continued support for the country’s institutions and efforts to protect Iran’s national interests. The latest escalation follows the collapse of the MoU signed last month, which was intended to end hostilities between Tehran and Washington and create a pathway for further negotiations. Its breakdown has led to renewed military exchanges across the region. The US military said on Sunday that it had launched fresh airstrikes against Iran to “swiftly punish” the country’s Revolutionary Guard following an attack in Jordan that killed two American service members, left one missing and injured four others, requiring hospitalisation.According to US Central Command, the latest strikes were intended to further degrade Iran’s ability to disrupt shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
