Mollywood actor Dhyan Sreenivasan may have only a few superhits in his film career, but he enjoys a huge fan base for his witty talks during interviews and promotional events. On the last day, the ‘Varshangalkku Shesham’ actor entertained the audience with his trademark humour while promoting his upcoming horror film ‘Visitor’. During the promotional event, the actor jokingly spoke about his political ambitions and imagined himself becoming the Chief Minister of Kerala one day.

Dhyan Sreenivasan’s CM wish involving Navya Nair

During the event, Dhyan spoke about reuniting with Navya Nair for a film after several years. He joked that despite Navya now being married and having a son, he still had one wish if he ever became Chief Minister. As quoted by Cinema Express, addressing the audience, Dhyan said, “We are coming together (for a film) when Navya is married and has a son now. Even so, when I become the CM and swear in, I hope that Navya would be there in the front row clad in a saree and with tears in her eyes.”Although Dhyan did not mention either Vijay or Trisha during his speech, many social media users interpreted the joke as an indirect reference to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay’s swearing-in ceremony, where Trisha attended the event wearing a saree and was seen getting emotional.

The actor also shared how the idea of entering politics first crossed his mind. He recalled that the thought came to him after Vijay became the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.As quoted by Mathrubhumi, sharing the story, Dhyan said, “For the past few days, I’ve been focusing less on films and more on stage shows and advertisements. During one such stage show, I was in Australia. When Vijay became the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, I decided that I would become one within the next 15 years. That’s when Aju Varghese called me and said, ‘Don’t try to become the Chief Minister first. Take the first step by becoming the president of AMMA.‘ He also said I could become Chief Minister later after doing charity work and impressing people.” He added that rumours about him entering the leadership of AMMA began circulating while he was overseas.“While I was in Australia, reports started appearing that I was likely to enter AMMA’s leadership. Later, while preparing for Lalettan’s show in Ireland, I saw news claiming that I had expressed my willingness to become AMMA president. The real power group in AMMA is Aju Varghese.”

Aju Varghese and his mother’s advice

Dhyan revealed that Aju Varghese later advised him to stay away from the organisation because of the controversies surrounding it.He recalled, “In the meantime, Aju called again and told me not to get involved with AMMA because there were huge issues going on. He said I shouldn’t become either the AMMA president or the Chief Minister, and that the ideal job for me would be Governor because there wouldn’t be much work.”The actor also shared his mother’s reaction after hearing reports that he could become the president of AMMA.“My mother said, ‘Son, I heard you’re going to become the president of AMMA. That should never happen.’ She told me that the reason my father never became president was because straightforward people cannot hold that position. Sometimes, you’ll have to turn a blind eye to certain things, she said. I didn’t fully understand what she meant. But my mentor kept insisting that someone who wanted to become Chief Minister should first become the president of AMMA. So, today, I am resigning from the presidency of AMMA—a post I never wanted in the first place.”Dhyan made the remarks during the promotional campaign for ‘Visitor’, an upcoming horror film directed by Rahul Muralidharan. Anoop Hormis and Anil Thamalam serve as co-producers, while Neethu Mathew has written the screenplay.
