‘He forced his way in’: Delivery agent entered flat, flashed at Bengaluru woman; arrested after act caught on cam

BENGALURU: A Bengaluru woman has shared a video on social media recounting her alleged ordeal with a Flipkart delivery executive, claiming that he forced his way into her apartment and flashed at her after she refused to let him use her washroom.In the video, the woman says the delivery agent had arrived at her home to deliver a parcel.According to her, the man then asked if he could use her washroom.She says she declined the request, telling him that she lived alone and did not allow strangers inside her house.The woman alleges that despite being denied permission, the delivery executive removed his slippers and forcibly entered the apartment.The incident is also captured in the video, which shows the man exiting the premises and walking away.Fearing for her safety, she says she immediately switched on her phone camera.In the video, she further claims that the delivery agent then flashed at her inside the flat.The woman narrates the sequence of events in the video, which has since gone viral on social media and triggered outrage online.Based on the woman’s complaint, police arrested the delivery executive and launched an investigation into the case.Responding to the incident, Flipkart said, “We are deeply disturbed by the incident and are extending our full support to the customer. Customer safety is non-negotiable.As soon as the matter came to our attention, we immediately terminated the engagement of the delivery partner involved.An FIR has been registered, and we are fully committed to co-operate with the investigating authorities.All delivery partners undergo background verification and mandatory training before onboarding.While incidents of this nature are extremely rare, even a single such incident is unacceptable.We are reviewing the matter thoroughly to determine whether any additional measures can further strengthen our customer safety processes.”The viral video has reignited concerns over the safety of women living alone and raised questions over the background verification and monitoring of delivery personnel employed by e-commerce platforms.
