Raveena Tandon says Akshay Kumar really deserves his success, as she opens up on reuniting with him after 22 years: ‘He’s just the same’
Raveena Tandon and Akshay Kumar recently reunited on screen after almost 22 years with ‘Welcome to the Jungle’, which released in theatres on Friday. Reflecting on their latest collaboration, Raveena had nothing but admiration for her former co-star, praising his unwavering dedication and work ethic.In an interview with ANI, the actor said that despite the many years that have passed since they last worked together, Akshay Kumar remains the same committed professional she remembered from their earlier films.“I think it was great working with him after so many years. Nothing has changed in him. He is hardworking and dedicated. He is so involved that you can see the hard work. He deserves all the success that he gets because he really works hard for it. He doesn’t get it easily. He really, really works hard. I mean, no one would be as dedicated on set as he was.”Over the years, Raveena and Akshay have shared screen space in several films, including ‘Mohra’, ‘Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi’, ‘Daava’, ‘Keemat: They Are Back’ and ‘Barood’. Among their collaborations, ‘Mohra’ and ‘Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi’ remain two of their biggest commercial successes.Released in 1994, ‘Mohra’ was directed by Rajiv Rai and also starred Naseeruddin Shah and Suniel Shetty in pivotal roles. Two years later, the duo reunited for ‘Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi’, directed by Umesh Mehra, which also featured Rekha in a leading role and went on to become another blockbuster at the box office.
