‘Maa Inti Bangaaram’ star Samantha Ruth Prabhu recalls her lowest career phase after box office failures: ‘People said I was done as an actor’
Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu is enjoying the success of her latest release, ‘Maa Inti Bangaaram’ directed by BV Nandini Reddy. During the film’s success meet in Hyderabad, the actress spoke about one of the hardest times in her life. She shared that there was a time when many people believed her career had ended after some of her films did not do well at the box office.

As per India Today, Samantha Ruth Prabhu talked about her lowest point as she said, “It was a very difficult and stressful time. I have seen the lowest; I have seen people cancel me. I have read thousands of comments saying I was done as an actor, and for a period of time, it was true. I wanted to fight back, to give my hundred per cent to this film. I was supported as well, to be able to give that hundred per cent.”The actress also said she was not sure if the film would do well in theatres. She admitted that she had very little confidence because of what had happened in the past.
Sam did not expect the film’s big success
Samantha said, “Honestly, I didn’t know if I could sell even one ticket. We recovered our budget before release, and anything beyond that was a bonus. What a bonus it has turned out to be.”Director BV Nandini Reddy also spoke about Samantha’s reaction. She said the ‘Kushi’ actress found it hard to believe that people had accepted the film so well. According to the director, Samantha only believed the success after seeing the audience response a few days after the release.

‘Maa Inti Bangaaram’ marked Samantha’s return to the big screen after ‘Khushi’, which was released in 2023. The film shows Samantha in an action role and has received a very good response from the audience. The film has crossed Rs 55 crore at the worldwide box office.
