Avani Kejriwal, a commerce student from Ranchi, has topped CBSE Class 12 after re-evaluation results made her scores rise to a perfect 500 out of 500.After the re-evaluation process, Avni’s marks increased by 24. When the CBSE Class 12 results were announced in May, Avni had scored 95.2%. She had already secured full marks in Accountancy, Economics and Applied Mathematics. However, she was surprised by her scores in English and Business Studies and decided to apply for re-evaluation.Speaking about her decision, Avni said English had always been her favourite subject and strongest area. She told ANI, “Everyone is very happy right now. We weren’t expecting 500 marks, but everyone is very happy. I had 19 marks deducted in English, which I wasn’t expecting. English is my favourite subject and was my strongest one. That’s why I applied for re-evaluation. There were also 5 marks deducted in Business Studies.The review process worked in her favour. After re-evaluation, her marks were revised upward, giving her full marks in all five core commerce subjects- English Core, Accountancy, Business Studies, Economics and Applied Mathematics.

  • Avni Kejriwal is a Class 12 commerce student of Delhi Public School (DPS), SAIL Township, Dhurwa, Ranchi.
  • She became one of the country’s top commerce performers after securing a perfect score of 500 out of 500 in the CBSE Class 12 examination following re-evaluation.
  • Avni is the daughter of Ranchi-based businessman Mitesh Kejriwal and homemaker Poonam.
  • She initially scored 95.2% in the board examination. Her scorecard showed 81 marks in English and 95 marks in Business Studies, while she had already secured 100 marks in Accountancy, Economics and Applied Mathematics.
  • Unhappy with the marks awarded in English and Business Studies, she applied for re-evaluation because she believed her performance had been assessed incorrectly.
  • Avni said she cross-checked her Business Studies answers with the CBSE model answer key and found no reason for the deduction of marks, which encouraged her to seek a review.
  • She plans to build a career in business and finance and is currently exploring undergraduate study options in Delhi and Bengaluru.
